Do any of you know if it is possable to run a turbo off a 1.6 auto??
I am looking to see if it will kill my gear box or not. I have been told that it can after about a month is this true???

I see no reason why not. There are some people here who have a turbo on an auto P5. The automatic might not accept the force as good as a manual but you can get a performance torque converter with a different stall speed. It's like putting a clutch on a manual.

just get a low pressure turbo to be safe - keep under 5 or 6psi. that'll still give you heaps of punch compaired to stock...i dont know if you want one, but on low psi you can get away without having an intercooler
OK now i no i can run turbo :D
can anyone supply me with a quality make????? and a approx price????
all the help is great thanks

I'm thinking you would need an intercooler at even 6psi.
I know TDK's SP20 was pinging like all crap without one. Dunno what the latest is there......
Not aware of any kits for your model Davo, I think you are looking at developing your own.....

wagnersports do do a 1.6 turbo, if you want to import etc...
davo pull out the yellow pages, you will find turbo persons....
i think the suggestion with autos has been to use a transmission cooler...

5 Psi on a T-25 has been done many times without an IC. To keep cost down you could do it but I still think it would be better for the engine if you had one with.
Also, the tranny cooler is a good idea but you wouldn;t really need it unless you were on a track or on a passing spree on a highway. The turbo only puts more strain than stock when in boost so the tranny would only heat up more than stock in this case. Good idea though. Later...Brian
