Tail Light Turn Signal's Need Help!

ok i searched all the bulb size threads and checked out sylvania's website and for the sedan taillight turn signals i keep getting 1156 as the part number... i went out and bought them and they dont fit ?? i looked at the bulb size of the stock bulb and it is the same as the 1156 but the metal prongs on the bulb itself are spaced differently than the stock ones... can anyone help??

...are 1157 except the side markers. Most all cars are 1157 for all tailights.
