well, hmm i just go my injen CAI and had some questions about that.. wanting to know what people thought about car kits..
just got my audio/visual a few wks ago, and wondered if i should just stick with my factory speaker system for now or go ahead and shop for something new, it sounds really good but i am told that if i am going to show the car i need to get new ones.. stuff like that.

What is your question regarding the intake?

I would get new speakers...

Rim fitment issues have been dealt with in the Rims/Suspension forum.

well, where do i begin.... it makes this weird noise when i gas it.. i was told that is because it's sucking air..
and will it make it drive different? i was driving my husband p5 and when i got in mine to drive, the clutch seemed like i had to push it in all the way, more so then in his..

The noise, I can't say. There are others with that intake that should be able to help out there.

As far as the clutch pedal is concerned, you can go to the dealership and ask them to adjust it. The clutch is hydraulic, and is easily adjustable for where it will engage. It's just a couple of nuts to loosen and adjust on the pedal itself.

The only way an intake would make the car drive different would be more power. But, that's a butt dyno thing and hard to tell sometimes.

hmm yeah it will sound throaty, deeper sound when you give it gas. as for the clutch, the intake should not cause it to feel different. it give the car a liitle ummphh.

yes the intake will make a higher pitched sucking noise...it will normally do it when it discharges excess air when you turn off the car as well.

SPRFLY

well, we put a new exhaust on it as well as the intake so it's much fast then i was... i can say that..lol i got on hwy 190 the other day and hit 120 and didn't even know it til i looked.lol

my husband said the clutch thing was because i was used to driving his car that day and when i got into mine, it was different because his is different from mine.. ajustments i guess..

that will change trust me... when it's your kids nothing comes before them.. not even the car...the car may sound sweet, but there is nothing sweeter then a baby's cry, laugh, or when you walk in the door and that child's face lights up and they smile at you or when they are trying they're best to run to you without falling and yelling daddy, with they're arms opened as wide as they can go...

*sniff* that was beautiful...now back to the topic at hand!!! j/k Glad you joined your husband in this little cult we call Mazdaizm. I'm lookin' to trade my wifes Civic for a yellow P5 as well. My daughter won't even ride in her car anymore since I got mine. She calls it the "blue car".

You have a muffler on stock pipes, all it does it sound louder.. the intake really doesnt do anything alone either other than sound louder. How do I know? I have the same intake and Jeremys old muffler and pipe on my car.. Get a header and run with no cats and then you will see some power.. The sound of the muffler and intake may *seem* like your accelerating faster, but the difference is really too small to notice.

And how do you not notice when you hit over 100 MPH? The sound on the roof racks is enough to drive someone mad at that speed, and maybe the blue and red flashing lights behind you is a good indicater of you going almost twice the legal limit.

I sure hope your kids weren't in the car with you. You say you love them so much but putting them in that kind of danger without them knowing how harmful it can be is just wrong. Hitting anything at that kind of speed is fatal... Go to a track if you want to play fast and furious, dont put your kids in the back seat of a death trap... I used to drive 30 miles on 190 per day to go to work, and I have seen couches, glass trucks, hobo's, and anything else you can imagine in random lanes of that highway. It's hard to stay alive going the speed limit with all of the clutter on that highway.

Ahmad.. you really need to chil. I have driven her car before and after I put the intake on and there is a difference. I also drove my car and her car back to back with the intake on and yes, there is a BIG difference in acceleration.

Nice to see you and your husband commented on you going twice the speed limit with your kids in the car. I think its rather nice of me to be warning you about that?

I didnt say the roof racks bothered you, I said how can you not notice that you are going twice the speed limit?

I saw your car, and a muffler and tip does not = exhaust system. A muffler and tip is exactly that, a muffler and tip. And the tip is only for looks.

I have taken my intake and muffler off and on so many times for warranty work and I feel *less* low end power from the injen intake.

this is my last comment on this... Agreed... however, it is no one's place to pass judgement on anyone's actions. Yes it was a mistake, and one that was not looked upon well.

so please, everyone just shake hands and make up. I hate to see bickering between people...
