We need to know what is the "average" screen res you peeps use so that we design the interface properly.

I use 1024 x 768 as I find 1280 X 1024 just a little too small for my old eyes. :)

I saw a survey done a while back in a PC mag....and the vast majority of the nation uses 600 X 800.....just for reference.

I agree... unless you're doing photoshop or some kind of audio mixing where you absolutely need to have a ton of screen in a little space, 1024 x 768 is the way to go.
And I do web-development 9-5, Sir Nuke is correct, the majority of the world is still in the "Stone Age".
The majority of computer uses are also on 17" monitors... it's not about Money... it's about how much of your desk at home you are willing to sacrifice to big hulks of plastic. So while it may be great to see 1280x1024 on your 21" screen... it's a little too tiny even on the 19"

This is what I'm using right now at home:
19" monitor @ 1280 x 1024
17" monitor @ 1152 x 864
1280 x 1024 doesn't bother my eyes... yet. :D

Oh, should have also added... I use the funkier 1152 x 864 on the 17" because that's the max resolution I can use for that monitor to support 85 hz refresh rate. Necessary when you have to stare at the screen for hours at a time.

I'm blind so I run 1024x768 on my 21" at work...
1152x864 on my 21" at home
and I used to run 8x6 on my 17" at home.
I wouldn't call 8x6 the stone age...since its what most people run. Most people now have 17" monitors...and 1024 is a tad small on a 17".

1400 X 1050 on my Dell laptop (home/work). It has a 15" active matrix screen, so that isn't small at all!

800x600 is what grandmas use. 1024x768 is standard now. Put hundreds of systems together and that's what everyone I know uses. Anything bigger is annoying. Smaller gets tough to read for some people.

Yeah I can go 1600 x 1200, but why?
