Yeah good luck I find your car choices interesting they are 3 completely different vehicles, Tundra, Vette, MSP. I would like one of each. Then I would be all set

All of the dealer incentives are over... you'll have a hell of a time getting it for anything under 20k out the door if you're lucky.

No they are not. $2500 rebate and $500 Dealer Cash. You can get one for $3000 below invoice and if a recent college grad, get another $500 off and also, if the Mazda dealership hits their sales goal, then another $500, so all in all, $4000 below invoice for about $15,500 or so.

Hell I paid $17,300 for mine three weeks ago and I am happy with that. As long as I pay less than sticker. That $ 16,675 is a great deal. :D I wouldn't hesitate regardless as the cars are drying up. There were only 4 or 5 left in lower Michigan as an example as of last week. My dealer was sucking them up from others to sell them. :)

Looks like they re-updated the offer. As of Jan 5th the last offer expired. Heres the new one, looks like my resale value won't raise till after March 1, 2004......those fuckers at mazda...

I doubt you'll get that price, but good luck. I've never heard of anyone getting one for less than $16k even.

Yea in texas they have them for 15900.00 i have them down to 16675 they come down another 675 then ill buy it. with 2k down theres no reason i cant have it for around 275 a month. its been there over a yr. they said they could get me in it for like 307 i said there crazy, they have had 4 of them forever that its a 03 also not a 03.5 i was quoted 17000 for a 03.5 at a diffrent lot. if they want to sell it then i dont see what the deal is at 16000 there still making money. just cause you guys paid sticker doesnt mean im gonna take the beating too.

I don't remember you mentioning that it was a 2003 NOT 2003.5. I definitely would make them come down more then. I have 2003.5. ;) I haven't heard of anyone getting the mystical below $16k price either. I think that is alot like a white buffalo, heard of em, but never actually seen one. :D

True. I would have never paid MSRP for this car. The reason I bought was because I got it so cheap. Otherwise I would bought a WRX. Yes, I am happy with my car, but only because I saved lots of $$$$

Don't forget the negotiating on your financing. I'm not saying buy it at sticker, I'm saying ppl who really wanted when it came out paid higher. The offer at 16k is a good deal, the point is the longer you delay someone else who wants it more will be willing to pay what they offer you now and take what could be your Msp away from you.

I'll sell you mine with 2900 miles (black) perfect condition, never been redlined (yet), has had one oil change already. You could have it for $15,800 :)

If you act fast I may lower the price even more ;)

01-14-2004, 03:53 PM
Well, just like some of the people here, I too would not have gotten the car for sticker. Thats mainly cause I never thougth I would buy a new car. But the deal that i got on this car was insane so I couldnt pass it up. With all of the rebates i picked mine up for 15,500 and that was without the 500 college grad rebate that I did not qualify for but 2 people i know did.

I don't think your offer of 15,800 is that bad. I got my black 2003 on December 23 for 16,400 before the extra $500 cash to dealer incentive was out. My car only had 145 miles on it. 1000 seems like a lot. Maybe they traded for it from another dealer and drove it cross country, but it could also be a lot of hard test drives. Have you reminded them about that $500 cash to dealer that you are not supposed to know about? How about the dealer holdback where the dealer gets a 3% (on the invoice) bonus back from Mazda to help cover the interest that they pay on the car. It helped me that two dealers in my area had black MSPs and I let them both know that the lowest offer would win. The issue may be that they have the only black one in Louisville. Not sure if you know, but you can search Mazda Dealer inventory from the www.mazdausa.com web site. I did a quick search on zip 40202 and found two dealers, NELSON MAZDA RIVERGATE and WYATT-JOHNSON MAZDA, that each have a Black MSP. They are both 146-148 miles from you, but I would call(or email) them up to see what kind of deal they will give you and how many miles the cars have. You can also request a quote from them through the mazdausa.com site and do it all online. That should at least give you negotiating help even if you don't want to drive that far. Three dealers biding against each other sounds like fun.

No Problem. My last name is Housenga, but people call me House. Part because of the name and part because I'm 6'7" and 235. The one place in Louisville that had a black one was BLUE GRASS MAZDA. I assumed that was the place you where dealing with, but maybe not.

BrianV

I got my black one for $15,900.

All 03's were 15,900 and all 03.5's were 16,400 for about 2-3 weeks in October. These were advertised newspaper specials, thus no bargaining was needed. Pretty painless negotiations.

A PR5 could be had for $11,000 at the same time as well.

To all those saying "If I had to pay sticker, I could have gotten the WRX..." Well, yes, you could have, but the sticker on the 2003 WRX in august of 2003 was anywhere from $25,500 to $27,800 depending on options, i.e.; boost gauge-$160 / rear spoiler-$375 / short-throw shifter- $189 / upgraded speakers and sub-$275 / alarm-$250.

Our cars already have all of this, and the sticker was $21,500!
I talked multiple times with 2 subaru dealers. The day I bought my MSP I told both of them If I couldn't get a better price than list, then I was going right back to Mazda. They both said if they could, they would, but demand was so high, they didn't have to come down. So I said "more power to ya!" and picked up my MSP that day.

So, basically all I would have gotten for $5-7000 more was 57hp and all wheel drive. Oh, and the 17'' wheel option was almost another $1900, and would have to have been delivered from the factory. (which means I wouldn't get the car before they arrived, since they wanted the original wheels and tires back new)

Just something to think about...

I got mine at bluegrass imports last jan and paid 22kl. If you get one for less than 17k I say go 4 it. Anyways, hope you get a MSP, you could join about 5 of us here in DA VILLLE.

The black one at Bluegrass has been autocrossed, tracked, and test driven ALOT.
Hell i drove the piss out of it 2 times back in july when it had about 750 miles on it.
Pay no more than 15,500 for it, also make sure they change the oil, and check all other fluids before you buy it. Have them also inspect it top to bottom. Its a "new" car with 1k miles thats been there for a year.. it needs some love for sure, but be careful.

And if you get it, you can join gcotton and I, were crazy with the MSP's in louisville. :)

I purchased mine in August for $14,995. Of course, it did have ~2000 miles when I got it. I then flipped it six weeks ago to Carmax for $15,600 after I hurt my left knee. Needless to say, I was pleased with that result. I originally got it at Mazda North in Austin.

I'd say 15,000 is definately reachable now that the Mazda3 is out.
