Hey guys,
My name is Ben and my friend Matt just bought a Yellow MSP. Its a awesome car!!! I am on here for him because he is not really a computer guy. I was just wondering somethings, such as, what would be recommended first for his car. I was thinking Boost Guage/MBC/TT, then a intake (AEM) and then too a t-back Exhuast, Any input on this or where to buy this stuff. Also are there any known problems he should look out for? BTW I am a car guy, I drive a 98 2.5rs, and I truly enjoy cars, and automotive sports!
TIA
Ben

Welcome to the boards

I would not bother with a TT. Big money for nothing really. Just keep off the boost about a mile or 2 before you stop. Then maybe hang in your car for @ 30 seconds. Sometimes I just finish the song I'm listening to on the radio before I shut her down.

Yeah thats what I do too. I just keep it in low RPMs out of boost for a while. Somtimes I will coast in neutral as I head in to work too since it is mostly all down hill right into my parking space.

Dude exactly, that money is better spent somewhere else. In addition I have heard of dealerships give people shit about having a TT, maybe they are wrong to give these people shit about them....but they still do.

This is what I would recomend...

Enjoy the car as it is, pay it off, then go out an start playing.

lol... or for you younger kids, wait til your parents pay it off.

To be truthful... I did the same thing. Wow... mods, gotta get this, gotta get that, man it's gonna be awesome. Then, my mature side stepped and said, "you don't need shit right now", and after reading about all these problems from modded speeds, I think I will wait and see some of these manufacturers come out with mods given plenty of testing.

I like racing just as much as the next guy here... but actually, no one really wants to race, they usually just admire the car. Others that have the EVO and STI, have mutual respect knowing that I know those cars would eat the speed. lol

The only "real" problem I have with the car is that I am used to cars actually going faster when you are at wot. Still haven't relearned it for my msp yet.
