I have the warped rotor problem and my MSP has 24000kms on it. I dont know if the dealer is going to cover the replacement under warranty. I dont abuse the car so I cant see why not. On the other hand, if they arent going to replace the rotors and pads under warranty I cant see myself putting the same stuff back on if it warped so quickly. I have done a search on this forum and even on google but I cant seem to find what I need. Who makes aftermarket brake kits for the MSP?

Just popping in to say that if they fit the ES they will work on your MSP just fine.. Plus we have the advantage of already having 17" wheels to allow greater brake clearance.

If your looking for just the rotors, corksport has Cross drilled and gas slotted rotors for the MSP.
if your looking for a Big brake front upgrade, Mazdaformance.com has a stoptech kit for the ES,MP3,P5 but, i don't know if they will work on the MSP.

Actually, the MSP rotors are larger than those found on the MP3, ES & P5s. I don't have exact dimensions, but when Kooldino & I met up, we compared and there is a definite size difference. You'll have to take that into consideration when you buy a kit for the MSP....make sure they're made for it specifically.

Corksport is the only place that i know that uses stock size rotor that are cross drilled or sloted. Only other way to go is big brake kit but those can cost anywhere from $800 - 2000.

also when u got big brakes ull have to thing about rim clearance...even thou we are 17" he have a horrible offset....when u have big brake kits yall have much larger calipers along with the rotors so it may not clear.

D'oh, what I mean is that the basic break system is the same, the rotors ARE larger on the MSP though..

A guy at a local shop said that it's the way I brake that may have caused the problems. I do alot of highway driving and when I come to an exit I gear down to 4th then I gently pump the brakes to reduce speed. I gear down right till I stop. He said I should put steady pressure on the brakes until I stop. I always thought that was the wrong way?

Just machine the rotors at Pep Boys for 6 bucks a rotor and get new pads for about $25 per pad and you will be good to go. If you want to invest money in the braking system, go for a big brake conversion rather than just new rotors and pads.
