What do you guys think is a decent (reasonable) asking price for my MSP? It's a 2003 Black Mica, no mods (except for the flash, if you wanna count that) Near perfect condition (few scratches on bumper, but hardly noticeable) less than 6500 miles. It's tinted, and I'd like to sell it to a private party, not trade it in.

Any serious suggestions are welcomed... Thanks!

Go to: www.edmunds.com . They'll give you private party and trade in prices for your area. It's a good starting point.

Thanks!! I'd tried the 'blue books' but I hadn't thought of Edmunds. That helped a lot!

That's more than I paid for mine. A little off and I don't think they are considering the $2500 rebate. It should be more like $13-14k since you can get a new one with 10 miles for $17k.

It all depends on who the buyer is though. I'm not wanting to scam anyone, but there are plenty of buyers out there who wouldn't even consider going to the dealer to check on how much a new one goes for. I've got $13.7 left on my loan, so if I get anything more than that I'll be happy.

It also said my private party would be 16,475 with 30k miles. For some reason, I don't see that happening.

I'd knock 20% off what a new one goes for for what you described. New ones here seem to go for $17,000, so knock $3,500 or so off that. Somewhere near $13,500.

my friend just bought a new one last week for $15,500 .....$2500 mazda rebate , $2500 dealer rebate , and a $500 college rebate $5500 off sticker

I was going to call BS here, but that price is probably accurate, as a scan of Edmunds.com shows a new $1,000 factory to dealer incentive now. WOW! If you qualify for the $500 college cash, you should be able to get $15.5k on the car.

15,500$ last week in Texas for an MSP I didn't find anyone who had the money or wanted one :( Was a heck of a deal for a new 03-03.5.

In good shape with a good intrest rate from a Credit Union etc that would be a god buy for someone.
