I read in a magazine yesterday (forgot which one) that ford is introducing a new 3.5 liter engine for Lincoln and the new ford that is replacing the taurus. It is rumored to put out 240 whp and to look for it in the Mazda 6 next year for a 2005 model. I dont know if anybody else has any more info, but this should make a great car even better.

Depending on how it is tuned, this could fix the only real complaint I havae with the 6S. No low end! Once it is going, it responds well and it fun to drive, even with the automatic.

240whp would be great! Gas would be absurd to pay for, but man that would be a treat! Sign me up!!

Actually, since this is a new engine it may actually get good gas mileage. The technologies are changing so fast I bet it will get about the same as the current engine. Im wondering if they are still going to offer the 3 liter and the 3.5 as an option.
