i dont know if you guys went over this but i just installed a MBC and i set it to 10lbs...when i get off the line its fine, running in second is cool too all the way to 5th...now when i downshift the car boost over 12lbs...and the cutoff engages making the car nosedive...am i over boostin even though it tells me that im at 10lbs when i accelerate...if thats fine what is the fix for the over boosting?...can anyone help????

Its just boost spike. Every boost controller has some spike. Usually 1-2 psi.

so its fine if i left it that way...i turned the MBC down thinking it might damage the turbo...is there anyway i can go over 10

If you want to go higher you need a fuel cut defender. Be warned though it'll be easier to break the motor if you boost higher without better fuel maps/timing.

You go too much over 10 and you're going to screw yourself. *Especially* by boosting in fifth gear. I *never* *ever* *EVER* boost in fifth due to the insane amount of work it puts on everything.
There is a FCD (Fuel cut defender) out but think about it this way.. Mazda put the fuel(spark, whatever) cut in there for a reason. Pulling in too much air and not having enough fuel to properly mix will not be good for your engine.
Not to be an ass but I'd suggest turning your BC down anyway until you get a bit more knowledgable about the car. I don't like reading the blown engine threads.

if you want more boost, get more intercooler.
And some kind of engine management.

get a fuel cut defenser and that shall take care of that pesky nosedive.

Yeah just don't go nuts with the boost. Mine has been at 10-12PSI for almost 30,000 miles now. I will have had the car for a year in Feb. I hate the cut. I would love a new ECU but alas I doubt one will ever exist. Plus this ECU learns and will undo whatever changes are made by a piggyback. It seems we may be shit out of luck as far as Emanage goes. I am far from an expert but there are many on this board who are and they all seem to have given up on the PCM/ECU.
Maybe Perfy Poo can save us...after the holidays he might be unveiling something new.
