Just wondering why the car is all taped up?

Yes, for rock chips or debris. More specifically they want you to tape up your headlights, so that in case they shatter the glass will not spill on the track

I have a credit for a track day at Road Atlanta. I'd love to drive the Protege there, but that concrete is awful close, especially so when taking out a my daily driver. I'd take the Miata out in a heartbeat, but it needs a roll bar. However, I'm too tall for a Hard Dog or the likes. It looks like I'll end up taking the Oldsmobile racer out, hehe.

It certainly isn't :). We get that one a lot. It's surprising how much attention this car actually draws. You should have seen it before, it was butt-ugly

That was a great day! Went up there thinking I was not going to drive and three people cancelled. So I took one of thier spots.
