RE040 Blew Tonight.

Yup. I was doing about 85 down the highway and the car started vibrating a bit and the girl with me asked why the car was shaking. I started to explain that my tires had worn down to the cord and right as I said that, I smelt burning rubber. I stopped to think about why I smell smelling rubber and then it completely blew. I'll have a short video clip of the aftermath when I get OrangeMSP's camera hooked up. It's NOT pretty at all but luckily we were both fine and no one got hurt.

for our cars, anything would help since it gets SO hot under the hood. i test drove a srt-4 in colorado and romped on it quite a bit and when we got back to the dealership, i popped the hood and was able to touch the turbo. that's something i'd never think about doing on our cars. so yeah, i'd add it just for the hell of it even at stock boost.

no way dude... surely you jest... turbo's glow friggen red hot when its nightime... they get to as high as 1400 and stuff... even typical regular exhaust manifolds get to over 400 easy...

Actually I was able to touch it. The turbo wasn't hot at all, which is why I mentioned this when compared to our cars that are so inneffenciently setup, the slightest boost will heat the turbo up past the point where you want to even open the hood. There have been a couple of nights where I've popped the hood and our turbo has been glowing red... Not something I'd do on our cars.

Yeah, our engine bay is one of teh hottest on the market(temp wise). And putting water wetter would help, but getting a lower temperature thermostat would be better, alowing colant to flow at a lower temp.

i can speak for T3ase on touching the turbo, even if it was glowing red hed prolly still touch it just to see what it felt like =P STOP SNORTING TABLE SALT( yes he really did) post all of that video if you want=P and some of the montero doing 115 for over 10min to
