i recently purchased a 2003.5 protege5 and i got some addition owners information. it said to avoid heavy acceleration and breaking during the first 600 miles on the car. the dealership did not mention this to me so of course when i had the opportunity, i opened it up. did i do any long term damage to my car?

I just went easy on mine the first 600 miles. I didn't tach it past 4. Don't rev your engine. The little bull u shouldn't do anyway.

naw,... you should be fine. Just don't hard accelerate off the line and redline. Those are the damaging things. Try to vary your speed to...don't go for a long trip at 55mph with the cruise on during the break in period.
