I've been searching and I can't find a thread that address this topic.

I finally bought a Blitz BLM boost gauge and I hooked it up to the accessory 12V wire in my TT harness. Its working but is on whenever I put the ignition on. I was wondering if anyone can help me wire it to the dimer switch on the car. Or help me wire it so that the boost gauge light come on only when I turn my light on. If no one knows...I suppose its no big deal but I would like my light to dim down with the instrument cluster.

Mine's hooked up the similarly...I have a switch that controls my gauges and the underseat neons. The switch is powered when the ignition is on.

I took out my dimmer switch to make room for another switch in that little panel (there's switches you can buy at like Pep Boys that fit there perfectly). I don't use the dimmer at all, on any car...it's always set for the brightest.

How often do you need to set the dimmer swtich?

I just dont want my Bosot gauge to be on all the time (light). Iwasnted it to turn on when the headlights are on. Its not the ignition or accesory wire. I could buy a toggle switch and hook it up to the 12V constant but I kinda dont want to switch on my toggle everytime I want to use my gauges.

i just used a voltage testor and tied the lighting side to a wire only on when the parking lights are on.. Make sure it is hooked to a parking light wire, if not when you turn your high beams on the gauge lights dont go off.
