My seat of the pants G meter indicates that my MSP seems to accelerate more rapidly when I only apply about 3/4 throttle.
This might be an illusion (I will verify this one way or the other next week when the Escort G Timer shows up) but the engine definately sounds like it is loading up at WOT.
What I wanted to find out was weather anyone had noticed if the butterfly in the throttle body was opening parallell with the bore of the throttle body at WOT, or if it was stopping before or after that point.

good question, would like some insight as well! also, is there just one butterfly in there? in know im my rx7 there are 2 throttle plates, and by taking one out it improved response noticeably!

ya the msp is a car you really have to learn to drive. My frineds have a hell of a time tryin.

Between learning how to throddle it and how to not get insane wheel hop, its a pain, but somehow it makes me love my car even more.

At WOT the ECU freaks out and goes into the crummy loop mode and gets really inefficent. What your "feels like" dyno is telling you is pretty accurate. The car is much faster at partial throttle.

but i thought that the open/closed loops were actually based on rpms instead(which seems dumb to me)
i was also thinking that awhile back about how if its at 3/4, then its not closed and would have a leaner a/f than when it just dumps fuel in closed loop. But then someone posted(possibly turboge) that it was rpm based.

so..

yes...
