Did the search, didn't find anything dealing with the "fuse" itself, so I am posting it here.

I have been having the parking lights staying on issue in my msp for the past week while I am waiting for the new module to come in. i used to be able to just tap the control module and the lights would shut off. Now the only way I can get the lights to shut off is by unplugging the fuse that is next to the control box.

My questions are.... 1) what the hell is that fuse for, I know it affects the ignition because I need to plug it back in to start the car. 2) Is our alarm separate from the keyless entry??? Only reason I ask is because the keyless entry works fine with that fuse unplugged, but nothing on the alarm works (status light, shock sensor...etc) 3) when I plug in the fuse back in...why in the hell is my status light lit up???

any answers to these questions would be great. I know I have to have the control module replace so don't post that i need to go to the dealer!!! I am mainly wondering about the fuse.

Thanks

Yes, the keyless entry module is seperate from the Alarm Module. The fuse you are pulling is for the Alarm Module. It also contains a starter disable circuit. This is why you are unable to start your vehicle without it. Other than that, there are no other side effects to yanking this fuse.
