i kno for the most of u, when it freaks u jus hit reset, but i read somewhere that one person over time (turnin on and off car)... it automatically fixed itself.

right now my deck is retarding and its like stuck halfway, and i'm going to the dealership tomorrow.. what are the chances it'll flip back over and fix itself?? .. cuz i needa get gas  and well if turning on and off the car fixes it, i wont go to fill her up and hope it doesnt flip back over =P

That was exactly what I did to "fix" mine twice. The first time it happened was AT the dealership of all places!!! As I was leaving the parking lot it did it so I just continued on my normal business and made 2 stops at 2 different stores. After the 2nd stop, it "magically" corrected itself. Then about 3 weeks later it did the same thing and it was fixed with just turning the car off and restarting it -- just 1 try that time.

So my advice is before you reset it or take it to the dealership, trying turning your car off and starting it at least 5 times. You might get lucky and the head unit will become un-insane. Good luck.

That whole flipping out halfway and staying bit is a commonly known Kenwood code. It simply means the deck's balls itch and it needs a good scratch behind the faceplate.
Scratch, scratch, scratch, ah all better ziittt, flip, ziittt, flip.
The face is out and all is right with the wolrd.

And remember no one likes itchy balls....I mean come on! The poor sods dont have any fingers you HEARTLESS BASTARDS!
Just a wee scratch and the plate will be in the full upright postion.

priceless...

when it's stuck half way, take face plate off, let the metal thing straighten up, and put it back on again. It shouldn't flip over and should just come on.

My old used to do this and that worked.
