Essential Speed uses an aftermarket BOV.

you can use a aftermarket bov with the ion, you just have to specify the flange you need

There isn't anything but custom for now. Spool was sold off, and they stopped making Protege parts altogether. I do beleve that Wagner Motorsports is working on one, though, and there's a larger one that fits where the current one is that's in the works. I forget who's making that piece, but Dr. Sound was posting pics...so he or SpicyMSP may be the ones to ask! Woop...forgot essential speed...the have a hardpipes only set-up and another one that has and FMIC, I think...

excellent, ill check it out. maybe i misunderstood ion, i pm'd him, and the way i understood it was it comes with the stock setup, but if i wanted the greddy flange, id have to get someone to weld it on? owell

If you put a atmospheric BOV your car will stall . Don't waste your cash on BOV if you stay under 11-12psi , otherwise, Turbo XS with the kit for recirculation are the best........

^^ who said that?
im not stalling.....neither is 505zoom and we both have atmospheric bov's, can you explain that?
oh and the turkey noise is joke...id spend the extra money to get rid of it.

Yeah bro, check this out:

2 valves, no stalling or turkey. I should maybe post more info around here about this setup curing the stalling issue too, a lot of people probably have missed this since it is known as the fix for the turkey.

ahhhhh, I catch the trick !!!!
After all, this the same result if you put this BOV Hybrid ?

If your HKS SSQV expulse 50% of air and the BPV 50% too(assumption), the BOV hybrid is more simple solution ? right ?

I say we find vendors of these Hybrids and/or do a group buy on them. I would DEFINITELY do this as the engine bay would be less cluttered and the cost would be less in general and should perform the same result!

are the prices on essential speed in canadian dollars? $1250 for an intercooler seems pretty steep if its USD

good deal, but still dont see why there so expensive?? i know they come with a bunch of shit, but what about everyone that already has the shit it comes with and just want the FMIC kit? i think they should offer just that as well as the other kits. my .02

the welds look sub-par on most of their Protege products to me... maybe they where proto-types.

dunno, not reall impressed, especially with the uber small intercooler. yeah it flows great, and much better than the stocker, but what about after 275 hp? time for an upgrade.

hybrids bov/bpv do not kill the compressor surge(turkey). You need to just get the ion fmic, use the stock bpv, and install another aftermarket bov and just be done with it!!!

I don't know why, but , I'm sceptic about it.
But, I will take the cheaper solution, because using a BOV under 10-11psi is useless.

The essential speed kit is in CAD$
If you want to see a real FMIC kit that flows check out Perrinperformance.com.
Its $1200US and it is the nicest kit I've seen. It has a monster IC and one piece aluminum pipes. If you really wanna run boost then this baby is for you.
In southern Ontario, Perrin Performance products are now available through JRP.
Sweet!
