I'm just very paranoid about keeping my warranty. Not sure if dealers would void the warranty if they see a fmic. Does anybody know?

sure it will, but some dealers are cool about it, ask your dealer first if you are worried

Dealers can only void the warranty if it can be proved that the aftermarket part you installed caused the failure.

The dealers know about this law and they'll often give you a very hard time anyway.

They'll be able to make a pretty good case for voiding the warranty of the entire drivetrain if you have a FMIC, as it raises the output of the engine. More power = more stress on every part in the drivetrain.

If your power window switch broke, though, they'd have a hard time denying warranty on that.

I'll just wait until my warranty runs out first (4 years), before I do anything. For me, I think the safety of a warranty is necessary.

thanks everybody

Maybe not as fun, but smart if you can't afford repairs right now. You've got to pay to play, as folks often say.

Nothing is worse than listening to some dude complain because he hooked a 100 shot of nitrous up while at the same time raising his boost to 20psi and running on 87 octane and blew his motor and now Mazda won't buy him a new motor.

A dealer cannot void your warranty. Only Mazda USA can do so. A dealer can refuse to do work on your car though. If your dealer gives you crap for the FMIC, go to another dealer.

do what you want to your cars, play it safe especially with boost controllers . im gettin my fmic/cai/bov in about a week or so
i dont use my dealership unless i have too , if somthing breaks and its less then a few hundred bucks id just eat it .
make friends with a mechanic you can trust .
alot of people will go more then 5 years with hardly any warrenty work done, maybe a couple hundred here and there. and the whole time they wished they could do all the cool shit they wanted too do but didnt.
sorry if im ranting
