Remove the crank pulley from an automatic trans P5??
Is there a way to get it to stop turning??:(

I don't know if there is a better way without having the special tool, but I just put my car in 5th gear (park for you) and had someone mash on the brakes. You'll need a breaker bar to get the bolt loose (I had to use my jack handle as an extension). Slow, gentle, increasing pressure worked for me (don't go banging on it).
Thanks vivid.
I managed to break the bolt loose.
It doesn't work that way for autos. A strap wrench has to be used on the pulley....or....brace the breaker bar on the ground and give the engine a quick crank and..tada it's loose.
Had to use a strap wrench to torque it back on though.

Yeah, I've never tried it on an auto so I didn't know for sure that it would work. Forgot about the trick you used... good thing the bolt is threaded that way :) I had a GTI a few years back and could not get the crank bolt off for the life of me (brakes kept slipping). I had to drop the oil pan and wedge a block of wood between the inside of the motor and the crank. That sucked. Glad you got it off... you putting on an underdrive pulley?
yeah....it's now on.
next is an intake cam

You could also try something I learned from an old mechanic that I used on a flathead Studebaker motor I had.
Find a cylinder that is coming up on the compression stroke. Feed in a couple of feet of nylon rope through the spark plug hole. Now as you turn the crank the rope will prevent the piston from coming all the way up and you can break it loose. Just make sure you back it off a little before the pulley is off all the way.

I sure hope this is done on the compression stroke! Even then I am not sure I would do it...
