Has anyone ever had the problem of their idle increasing when they are at an intersection and in neutral and they have the brake pushed in. Mine idles to 1250, let off it goes to about 1000. :wtf: Didnt use to do that. Had an injen intake installed. Thrown 3 cel and reset ecu each time. Also got an egg smell after driving, but searched and found it was normal.

Any one know whats up. Maybe time to see the dealer. :(

Depending on temp and accessories being run, stock idle is AFAIK 750 rpm.

The idle will be higher if you're running more stuff. I see you're from TX so I'll guess your AC is on mostly.

next time you get CEL , disconnect your battery and depress your brake pedal for about a minute to kill the remaining charge

as for the idle, if you hold on your brakes it runs various things which may cause the idle to increase (move your steering wheel back and forth when you are idleing, it will cause the tach needle to jump around because the power steering is drawing power)

so yea, reset your ecu again correctly ( i made the mistake of not draining the charge and so i kept getting a CEL till i figured that out

Car definately has to go to dealership. Idle now bounces with brake. I have checked the vac lines. Nothing is loose.

EVERY car I've owned does that, it's due to the vacuum boosted brakes...... Though not that much of a jump. Probably a bad brake booster

You said you smelled a rotten egg smell. You've thrown CELs and your idle is messed up. Just a shot in the dark, but I think one of your O2 sensors might have gone to shit. Those symptoms sound a lot like what happened when I put an H-pipe on my Mustang. Turned out that while replacing one of the sensors I had gotten gunk on the end which turned nasty when the hot exaust hit it. Worth taking a look at.

Well, took it to one of the dealerships, they are blaming remote start which i know is not the prob cause not only was installed very excellently, i have had it in for over 2 months. They only told me of one code in the cel. Well, took it to autozone later and they told me code p0507, for the idle control system has a malfunction, and p0850 for the clutch safety switch. The dealer wanted 180 bucks to "rewire" the car. I asked them what will that mean, they said, they will take out remote start and cel will go away. Bullsh!t. I never had one til last tuesday. Also it bugs me that the dealer only told me the clutch safety code and not the idle control.

Any one ever had something like this?

Edit: my alarm is compustar.

i drove it today, it feels fine driving but the idle IS really fuckin goofy, it goes up when its in neutral and up even more when you brake

maybe tricking the car into thinking the clutch was pushed in for the remote start is messing with it?
