Hey everyone, I can go to the AutoX on June 2nd, so who else wants to go show everyone how the MP3 handles better than a Ferrari? I'll definetely be there. Here is a link to the DFW area auto x events.
http://www.texasscca.org/events.html
Let me know if anyone else want's to go. We can all meet up somewhere and go in a pack of MP3's. This one is at Texas Motor Speedway.

Glad you mention it, Road & Track magazine just did a handling test with the best in the world. Ferrari, Porshce, Z06, and a MP3. Pretty cool, still the Ferrari tops all.;)

I carry that magazine in my car so that when I tell people that it handles just as good as the 911 Turbo, and that the MP3 beats it in some things, I can show the magazine to them to prove it. Because they never believe it.

me too, oh big ben, I met Jesse today, we talked about all the awesome stuff he's done to his car, he won't be able to make it to the auto cross on the second though, I will though, can't wait, we need to start getting a meeting place worked out, and times and stuff

We can start ironing out the details early next week. We should all drive in together.

I bet you anything that Ferrari will out handle any MP3 there.
Any bets?
I will flash any guy who outhandles a Ferrari. :)

Ignorance shines through again. Our cars have already been proven to outhandle even Ferraries. About the flashing, .....not even worth commenting.

The first MP3 that outhandles a Ferrari will get to lick my left nipple.
Ignorance is not going to a crossmeet knowing something could happen to your car. If anything does happen to your car, will you be drivingthat 1988 little red escort pimping in that?
Actions have consequences, and especially wreckless actions.

For one thing asianhottie, autoX is a lot more about driver skill than anything else. I can guarantee that if you took a professional driver...like one of the autoX champs, and put him in the MP3 against a lot of us here in the Ferrari, yes he would in fact outhandle us....that doesn't necessarily mean the MP3 is a better handling car...just that he's a far superior driver.
Case in point: At my very first autoX, a man was there with a Porsche Boxster S, a car that in a recent handling showdown which involved both the Porsche and the MP3 was ranked higher....however on that day, I drove better than the driver and posted a faster time. Does it mean the MP3 is a better handling car? Nope, but it does mean that on that day at least I was a faster driver.
As for damage to the car, I'd say that other than tire wear, there are very few things besides hitting a cone that can occur...it's exactly why the sport is gaining so much popularity.

big blue....why do you say that the mp3 is not as good handling wise as a porsche boxter it has better slalom speed, while the lateral grip may not be as good the mp3 can beat just about any car in the slalom

The first MP3 that outhandles a Ferrari will get to lick my left nipple.
Can I video tape it? Becaues it's going to be a huge orgy considering the fact that the MP3 has already beat the Farrari 360 Modena in numerous tests by professional drivers. Not to mention the new Corvett Z06, Porshe 911 Turbo, BMW M3, do I need to go on?
asianhottie
05-28-2002, 11:49 AM
Not every Ferrari will beat the MP3.
There are certain dependent factors.
When I mean there are certain "dangers" I was talking about the young wreckless drivers who can't handle the course.

Well I only meant that in the overall test, the MP3 placed behind it for total points for the entire test...not specific spots...they are both awesomely handling cars no doubt.
When I mean there are certain "dangers" I was talking about the young wreckless drivers who can't handle the course.
I have to disagree with this too...personally I think the people who show up to autoX are the far more responsible drivers. I rarely see the people who do the 500 lb body kit, underbody neon, altezza light crowd there...and if they are...it's just to watch and rev their engines to try and impress people. I give full props to those who show up at autoX as they are putting it on the line for all to see. As well, I also love the fact that autoX helps you to learn your cars limitations....for me I know now that I will be able to handle an emergency road hazard a lot better whereas before I may not have had the right reaction and had an accident.
As for dangers...in autoX like I said...a pylon is hardly much of a danger...the courses are usually on very large open areas so there's not that much danger...and you don't even really hit extremely high speeds either....besides once you spin out...then you know for next time to slow down. :)

Hey dude, I completely agree!
those little guys with the neon lights and altezzas were the ones I was referring to.
Thanks for clarifying.

You didn't seem this hatefull when I met you. You seemed like you were pretty nice. All girls don't like when their boyfriend of husband spends excess time on their cars but they get over it. My wife is annoyed by it, but she doesn't chew my head off for it. I don't bash her hobbies, and what ever she want's to buy for her hobby, it's fine with me as long as we have to money for it. You seem very full of hate and it seems like youare a vengefull person. Calm down and enjoy life. You are going to give yourself a heart attack.

Where does everyone want to meet for the road trip? Does anyone know what time to be there?
asianhottie
05-28-2002, 01:22 PM
This is NOT a hobby for some people, it's their life, they dump their life savings into it.
I am generally a nice person, to people who know their limits on the car.
I just don't want to have to taxi a certain member in this forum around when they wreck their car out on the track.
big_ben
05-28-2002, 01:37 PM
I understand what you are talking about, but I can at least quell your fear's of him crashing on an auto-x course. First, there is nothing to crash into except maybe a orange rubber cone, which will cause no damage. The only other damage that could occur is if the car were to flip over during a run. But at the low speeds that you will be at, (10 to 30mph), there is no chance of flipping over. This car probably wouldn't flip over on pavement anyway. It will just spin.

I am not trying to be offensive or anything, but it is kind of like a black rain cloud is hanging over him and his car. Everything seems to go wrong, like the engine blowing out, low oil, brakes wearing out, that sort of thing. I just hate having to pay for everything when he has to pay for unneeded replacement of parts, that takes away from my money and also taking him around. It's almost a burden.
But I hope you do well on the course though. :)

All your posts are kinda pesimistic. You need to come away from the "Dark Side." (Too much Star Wars" :D)

I have nothing to say about your feud with Patrick. That is your business, and when you make it public to try to embarass or belittle him in public like this, it will just make it worse between the two of you. Like I said, you seem like a nice girl, but when you do things like this, it makes me wonder.
asianhottie
05-28-2002, 02:12 PM
Damn peoples!!!
I am just trying to avoid having to pay for his damn stuff and take him around!!!
It gets annoying! He is an adult, not a child!!!

I found out that registration starts at 7:30am. We will have to leave by a little after 6:30 to get there on time. I pm'd or emailed everyone. We need to figure out where to meet by tomarrow.
asianhottie
05-30-2002, 01:21 PM
More than likely you'll need to save a place for that special little someone. he doesn't get off work until 10 am.
6:30 am? And this thing starts at 7:30 for registration, don't forget about parking and everybody else that will be there.
Hell, let's everybody camp out at Texas Motorspeedway, drink beer, and talk about cars.
big_ben
05-30-2002, 01:25 PM
There you go, now you are coming around. haha! I think the runs start around 10:00 because there is some kind of drivers meeting at around 9:00.
asianhottie
05-30-2002, 01:29 PM
So what's better?
Going first, middle, or last?
It's kind of like a talent show. Do you want to show your stuff first, when everybody is starting to get into it or maybe towards the middle when the people have seen what's out there.
I'm telling you, camp out. With as many car fanatics out there, you'll be battling 10,000 teenages with civics to get in line.
asianhottie
05-30-2002, 01:30 PM
Alcoholic bevs are allowed, coolers must be less than 14 inches cubic, and there are concessions. This is true.

If I had an RV I'd camp out, but screw that tent stuff. I need a shower.
asianhottie
05-30-2002, 01:35 PM
patrick would probably want to go, but like I mentioned, he doesn't get off until 10 or so and has to drive from a city north of plano, so maybe you can register him or something and he can just show up and do the cross, he's kind of occupied with other matters now so he probably isn't thinking too much abou this. but of course, i want him to have fun. i also would like to win a bet!
LinuxRacr
05-30-2002, 01:47 PM
I get off around 9:00 accually! I just don't get to Arlington until around 10:00.
asianhottie
05-30-2002, 01:49 PM
ok Mr.Perfect-timing,
You get off at 9:00 am.
big_ben
05-30-2002, 01:59 PM
I'm not sure if I could register you or not. I'll look on the scca website and see if there is someone I can call to find out about that. I'll call you and let you know. If you want to race, you would probably have to go there strait from work. I don't know if you would want oto do that or not.
LinuxRacr
05-30-2002, 02:02 PM
I just really planned to watch this time. I will probably wish that I had registered though once I see how fun it is!:(
asianhottie
05-30-2002, 02:04 PM
Grab life by the horns and do it!
I really want to win this bet!
big_ben
05-30-2002, 02:09 PM
What's the bet?
asianhottie
05-30-2002, 02:20 PM
My bet is that if ben or linux beats a car over $80,000, a ferrari or whatso, then the winning driver gets to pour a cold beer on me and vice versa.
big_ben
05-30-2002, 02:25 PM
I doubt any cars that cost that much will be there. But what do you say about a $40,000 to $50,000 car. Like a Corvett or a Porshe Boxter. I'll be willing to get in on that bet. Just not pouring the beer on one another. How about if you win, I'll buy you a case of whatever drink you want and if I win you buy. Not something outrageous like champaign though. I'll even bet that I can beat a corvett by at least 1.5 seconds.
asianhottie
05-30-2002, 02:28 PM
Sounds fair.
Something along the lines of a ferrari.
big_ben
05-30-2002, 02:34 PM
I really don't think there will be a Ferrari there, but I'm sure there will be a corvett or two, and maybe an M3 and a Boxter. I won't bet against an M3 though. I'm not that stupid. If there were a Viper there though, I'd bet my right arm on that though. An MP3 would wax a viper's ass! Too much power to the rear wheels, that thing is uncontrolable.
cjstringer
05-30-2002, 03:20 PM
I've taken down 5 different M3s. They're not that tough on the AX course.
