I Drive A Sports Car!!

Ok, this may be funny to me and no one else but I thought I would share.

So today at work our team was sitting in one of the conference rooms. We were all playing a little game, basically we had to sign off on a sheet of paper that had different hobbies or things to do on it. Example, it had skiing, drives a pick-up, things like that. So I would put my name down next to skiing, and drives a pick-up.


Well there was one on the list "I driver a sports car"...at one point I would have signed it but didn't, cause I couldn't. Well when it was all said and done 2 people, both guys had signed this paper with thier name next to "I drive a sports car"


So our team lead asks, because they were the only two "Well, what kind of sports cars are they!?"

The first guy says, and this is no lie "I drive a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire.."

Myself, and my buddy just stared busting up laughing, THAN! as if it can get any worse the other guy goes

"I drive a Honda CRX"

..........................:wtf: so anyways the instructor just says "Oh, yea.......um, very nice...." and walks out of the room!

whoa! If the "sunfire" and "crx" are considered sports cars then we (the protege5 community) drive exotic supercars!

haha indeed, a sunfire is definatly never going to be a sports car and a crx (stock) is about as gay as it gets, although if it can turn a good time then it has my thumbs up in approval.

Thats like saying that if a station wagon or minivan run a 13s 1/4 tat its a sports car.....no logic in that.

The very definition of a sports car = Mazda Miata. I't sclassic and pure in every form.

Was their anything done to them? Sports cars in general is a broad description now days were everything gets that label. Hell the Protege5 is described as a Sport Wagon, does that make it part sports car; no.

The whole "what is a sports car?" debate has been going on for as long as there have been cars.

To me, it is about the "excitment factor".

I believe there are simple, defined rules as to what makes a sports car.

1. has to be a 2 door vehicle.

2. Has to have excellent power/weight ratio (domestics thinks this means bigger motor)

3. must have well above average handling aspects.

4. must be impractical for daily use!

5. must cost more on isurance.

6. must get less than average gas mileage.

7. must make people think you only bought it due to your midlife crisis.

8. must attract attention of police officers EVERYWHERE.

9. must cost much more than the sum of it's componants.

and lastly!!!

10. Must make my wife say, " Now why do you need a car like that? You know you'll just blow it up!"


THAT! is what a sports car is!

nope, thats the women....the men drive tractors down the center of the street at 20mph!

Also, in Alabama, if your pickup truck doesn't have at least one of the following you're considered a fag poseur.

1. "Aint Skeered" sticker

2. "tennis ball stuck onto your overly huge and unnecessary CB antennea.

3. "3" Dale Erndhart tribute sticker....you will be missed good buddy.

4. "Calvin pissing on a honda" sticker

5. some sort of homemade camoflauge paint scheme somewhere on or in your vehicle.

6. Rebel flag rear window tint the classics never go outof style)

7. your name and your girls name etched into the glass on corresponding sides of the truck.

8. the words "The South Will Rise Again" somewhere on the truck.

9. "Bob Cherry for President" bumper sticker (no lie, he is my next door neighbor! I wish I were making this up!)

and the #1 sign you own an Alabama pick up truck...

10. It has it's own built-in "dip spit cup" but you still manage to spit all over the cab!
