Hey guys about to order my first mod which is a DP. Just wondering i drive this car everyday and i have emissions coming up. With the fact that you have to go through all the trouble of cutting ur CEL with the catless dp, if i bought the dp from apex with the cat what am i looking at for power difference. I mean if im gonna suffer alot im sure i could pay some buddies off from a local emissions testing to pass me. Im just alittle worried by cutting my CEL im gonna ruin my warrenty. Let me know what you guys think i should do. Thanks.

Its not that im worried about the warrenty i just wondering if i get the dp with the cat do i still have to mod the CEL wires. Also what is the power difference between the two. Thats all i mean warrenty is a warrenty my brother blew his celica GTS engine while racing they knew it they could see it, plus his car was extremely modded. I was just wondering about the DP with cat and without cat the difference thats all. Thanks.

The cat is not very restrictive. It is high flow cat. A DP, w/ or w/out ctas should not void any warranty.

for emissions - u will not pass them with a hi-flo cat,
so migh as well get a catless DP

Then why would apex even bother making a high-flow cat? Loss of power and you still won't pass emissions. Makes no sense. You prob won't pass emissions in CA but other states you could. I think.........

NY is pretty strict too but afaik, as long as you pass emissions they don't really care what you've done to it

dealerships say if you tamper with the emissions parts on your vehicle it will also void your warranty.

Pretty much everything performance wise will void your warranty.

Magnusson-Moss act.....read all about it....good to know just in case.... Not 100% sure on the spelling.. has to do with warranty not being voided unless then can prove that what you added caused the failure. But I don't know about smog stuff.

Don't all the new cars come with a 4 year inspection sticker when you buy them? Mine did. I have a catless DP on and Love it. Especially the sound. I picked up a psi or two as well.

Good luck

TheJohnny - No flame intended here what so ever. Want to learn about MM act and warranty work ETC. Search for some of Turbo Matty P's old threads He has TONS of info cuz well..... just read em VERY INFORMATIVE. In the end everybody has different experiences. There is a Spicy in Houston with a FMIC that goes to a dealer here no prob. So you never know.

Texas comes with a 1 year inspection or 2 year if you pay extra

A high flow cat with pass emissions in TX. I know several people using Carsound hi-flo cat and passed emissions. In CA I don't think you kill, but I am not in CA!!

I called the dealer and they told me a DP will not void the warranty, BUT it is illegal to mess with the emissions.

Does anyone here have the apex1 DP with or without hi-flo cat? Is it avaiable yet? I'm just curious cause I really like the looks of theirs. Also why would they make a DP with a hi-flo cat if you can't pass emissions with it?

PM me if you have any questions about legalities or warranty issues. I do not know anything about emmissions because I live in a non-emission state. YEEHAW!!! No cat's on any of my cars!! hehe.
