Hey guys alittle new to the MSP options I'm looking for a nice carbon fiber hood. I was looking at the latest turbo and I saw the DG motorsports makes a cool hood. I was wondering for some info on it. If anyone has seen it or has a better idea. Also when they say protege or protege 5 will the hood still fit a MSP. I would appreciate if someone could help me out. Thanks.

P.S.- Also off that topic does anyone have some install instructions for a DP, Exhaust, and more importantly metal piping kit.

Look in the group buy section. There is a buy going on for a VIS CF hood, that will ship towards the end of January. Ok, I'll just link you to it. :)

Lots of members hate DG through experience...I have seen some pics that scared me off as well...but in their defence I never saw a good close pic of a hood to back up what they were referring to...most of the complaints were about the dask kit, and eyelids...also some had some screwed up roof rails...

Turbo, the magazine, has a MSP with the ram air DG hood...but I didn't get the issue in which they recieved it...just saw it on the car in another article in which they were testing Ion's FMIC kit...but iON performance makes CF hoods as well, with more options...And they will introduce a similar air inlet functional hood by christmas...I will get Jack's email address for you if you are interested (jack is one of th dudes from ION)..He sent me about 5 pics and they all were very close and clear...the hoods looked great, but I couldn't compare them to good pics of the DG hoods...

Prices also are about the same as DG's...around 700 for a standard one, and about 30 bucks more for their "V-Weave" design...And the email said the air inlet one would be a little more expensive, but no prices have been finalized for the yet to be released inlet hood...They also have offset colored hoods, that are still real carbon fiber and still 12lbs...They have blue and red ones, to better match your exterior color...

the colored hoods are not for me though, but my car is black...The blue hood didn't look to bad on a blue MP3...

do either of you guys have close pics of the DG hoods? Some dudes were complaining about bubbles and broken blisters in the overcoating of the hoods...and also that the edges were very rough with parts of the fiber fabric sticking through...on average from what I saw most guys were pissed and rating them at like 5 out of 10...10 being what they were hoping for, and 5 being they were not pissed enough to sell it or return it...but overall not impressed...

Installshield 2 - just wanted to correct you on a few things. The 12lb hood is the regular plain weave CF hood. The V-weave hood is actually 11.9lbs. The Colored CF hoods are actually Colored CF/Kevlar and weigh in ~9lbs a piece for the regular versions. The "FULL" versions weigh in even less.
