This might sound silly, but where can I get a set of high performance calipers and rotors for my msp? I have a silver msp, and wanted to make blue the color of accessories. So, I wanted to upgrade the calipers (blue) and rotors.
Thanks,
doublebase

Just paint your calipers and ION has rotors for sale. I think they are 300 and some odd dollars.

I would stick with stock style rotors. Drilled and slotted look neat-o, but they do not offer any tangable functional improvement.

I always thought that drilled and slotted allowed for better heat distribution?

No, not actually. The original thought with the drilled rotors was that the holes allow the gasses that build up from the pads to escape more easily. Modern pads don't create this gas build-up. With less holes and slots, you have more braking surface area, and more surface area to dissipate heat.

however, cross drilled rotors work much better in wet weather. mine actually grip better in the rain than they do normally. the benefits are not amazing but they are noticable.

How come?

The rain escapes through it I guess...some at least. I guess just enough to notice some difference.

OK, I will have to think about that one. I've never done any "high-performance" braking in the rain. LOL.
Corksport has them too.... http://www.corksport.com

lol charles...you don't do 100mph in the rain! It's awesome :)

charles, you're so smart.

i would make sure you're getting rotors for a msp, cause they have larger rotors than all the other 3rd gens. 10.8"/11" FR. to my knowledge no one makes rotors in those sizes, but maybe iON does...?

I've got Cork Sports. I got the cross drilled, but you can get slotted too or even just standard rotors if you prefer. Choice of coatings, silver, gold and black. They make them factory spec. 10.8" F and 11" R. However, the manufacturer sent me rears for the P5/ES. Oops. Other than that very nice rotors. I'll post some pics when I get my rears in. Ben from CS called the company and they are drop shipping them out to me. So, customer service is good. I haven't seen the Ion yet, but their customer support is awesome as are their products, so go with your personal preference. Cost will be about the same either way. Cork Sport is $148 a pair front and back and shipping will be the same since they are both made up in Canada.
