I recently traded my P5 for a 03.5 MSP. Looking at it all, it seems that my INJEN CAI will fit the MSP next spring.

Has anybody tried it yet?

nope. won't fit. the path is completely different. you'll have to do some severe cutting to maybe (and that's a big maybe) make it fit. just sell your injen and get the one for the msp.

remember, your not going straight to the Throttle Body now, you have this thing called a turbo to get to first.

although if u went right to the throttle body, you could avoid the turkey and the hesitation!

maybe we're onto somethin here.....how much you want for your p5 cai? ;)

Instead of intermittent hesitation it would be full-time hesitation, hehe.

ok..... so that's what taking all the space? I tought it was to filter harmfull gases from the exhaust... :D

Kidding. I know that the second piece (the one that connects to the TB) wont fit but I was referring more to the first piece. The one that holds the cone.

Bigg Tim, you manage to make it fit? Was that the root of the stalling problems your friend had?

IMO i'd sell the p5 intake and buy the mazdaspeed version. You get all mounting hardware and such. Heck I'd buy the p5 intake for my wifes if your looking to sell it. thanks

yeah Bigg Tim is right, it can be done
just follow the instructions i've given on the link and it should be ok.
if u cant weld, u can get any muffler place to weld the little pipe for you for 10 bux.

His staling was fom the BPV vening too close to the MAF. We moved the nipple closer to the turbo and that fixed it. I didn' do any welding on this pipe, I just cut a little off of the 2 pieces and dilled a hole to put it a 1" barb for the BPV and that was all. It took a couple of hours maybe, not too bad.

oh cool.....i thought u guys rewelded the piece, but whatever works :D

Yeah, we tried to hook the BPV to the nipple that was on there for the line that came from the valve cover, but that didn't do the trick. So we plugged that and drilled the hole and put in the barb down closer to the turbo.

holly crap, i just read your sig, Tim
how much power are u putting out with all that?
and what kind of piggy back is it?

Bigg Tim

Don't know about the power yet. I had some issues in the beginning and had trouble tuning it, then once that was resolved, the clutch started slipping.

I did run my freind's speed that had 9psi and pulled on him until my clutch slipped. He was bangin the gears and redlining it, I didn't bang and shifted at ~5600. So it's pretty strong, but I don't think I ever really felt the potential power yet.

I'll pick up a clutch after the holidays and see what she'll do. I'll try to get to the dyno and track for some numbers. I'd like everyone to know how much it has.
