I gave my 1991 Protege LX to the Salvation Army today (11/18/2003). It was my first new car. I'm going to miss it terribly. Good thing I have a new MSP to take my mind off of it.

It was the original Zoom Zoom car. Back in 1991 I had a custom vanity plate created that said "ZOOM ZOOM". At the time I thought that phrase just fit the personality of the car. Of course it just felt right but more than that it went zoom zoom.

That vanity plate is now on the MSP. I had to cut it off the old car. It didn't want to let go.

The tow truck driver said he will probably buy it. There wasn't too much wrong with it.

Yep. It will help on my taxes. And I also like the fact that by giving it to the Salvation Army they will train people to fix it which helps someone learn a skill and they will get money from selling it.
I did this with my wife's old car and will do it again in the future.
