Just in....still pretty hot...
Ok..i'm owner of a P5.
honestly, I prefer my P5 vs the 3 hatch version.
BUT, I would take the 3 anytime! because more power + new features... :p
anyway, the 3 isnt tall...like the matrix or vibe, wich is pretty good to me!

That's exactly how I feel. However, I haven't had the good fortune of seeing one in person. So, who knows?

I feel the Mazda 3 as a mix of a rx-8 and the Mazda 6....
anyway, it's just my perception
I called up a mazda dealer in laval yesterday and he said they should be in anytime soon!

If you guys want to see some or get one near Montreal, go at ALBI mazda in Mascouche. They are the first to have some...they help other dealers that didn't get them yet and they have 200 more coming in this week.
I was there yesterday and today. I finally took the 3 sport GT with moonroof and A/C in winning blue mica. It's on it's way and I should get it in about 10 days.....I can't wait!!! (2thumbs)

Albi? If you're all bent on getting one right away that's all good, but from what I've heard, Albi might have the worst service department in all of the Greater Montreal Area.

Not true! I find Albi has some of the best service around. I walked into Albi and within 10min I was on the road giving a brand new 3 a test drive. Also, whenever anyone in my family brings their car in for service, if it's going to take longer then an hour they give us a car for the day for free (usually a 6). I've been to lots of Mazda dealers and I don't find many that can offer the service and price that Albi can....just my 2 cents.

Alright, I just got off the phone with MAZDA GABRIEL, the mazda 3 is in. If you guys want, there's a launching party tonight from 6 to 9 on St-Jacques.

I went to ArgusMazda in Hull QC. The Titanium Hatch is really cool.
I saw most of the hatch having SportShift. I did not see even a single Manual Shift. They have around 6 hatches and 10 sedans.
Titanium was the best color for both hatch and sedan. I dont find any lava orange.

Sport = Hatch
I took the sport GT ..... I took the 5 speed manual transmission, moonroof, A/C and decided to get the windows tinted. So the only options I didn't take are leather and automatic tranny. Price was almost $25 000 CDN.
Titanium is the most available color....It's going to be as original as to get any silver car right now. Don't get me wrong. If I would have gotten the sedan I would have taken the Titanium but for the Sport I find that the shape needs a bit more of a funky color.

Man, I might have to pay a visit to my dealer in the next couple of weeeks to see one of these babies. I'm really happy they're not tall like the vibe or matrix, as it looks like what you could call a mini van crossover hatch.

Well....at first look....it's not tall :)
well it's $21,345 for the GT (sedan) and $1,095 for the GFX package.
The base model is only $16,195 which is really cheap. I took some pics from the opening at Gabriel, I'll be sharing them with with you tomorrow!

Ok here's the breakdown:
base sport GT: $21 385
A/C: $1000
Moonroof: $800
leather: $900
freight: ~ $1000
I got rid of the leather plus I was able to get $300 and my last current car payment made which is another $400. So overall I got about $700 off a vehicle that they are asking the list price for right now...not to bad considering. Of course, if you don't want to pay list then now is not the time to go get one....the demand is too big for so few vehicules....so the dealers don't cut a lot of slack.
They look nothing like the vibe or matrix tandem! The 3 is not tall and you don't have that effect that the car's been jacked like in the vibe/matrix.
With the 17" the 3 hatch looks rather mean and "well planted" on the ground. People that say that it looks like a matrix or vibe obviously are either jealous or haven't seen one in real life because otherwise they wouldn't say that.
outside looks have never been a concern for me. I like the sedan a lot. But, it's the inside I'm worried about.

as for me, it's the opposite...I really like the interior...
correct me if i'm wrong...but good luck changing your stock audio.. I think most of the cars now have those one piece audio/heat/AC/Vent console.
And I wished mazda to put a nasty body kit...like the P5 or mazdaspeed. just my 0.02$ :p
You can modify the audio unit :p It'll cost a bit more coz they have to cut that part and replace it with a new one! Dammit, I been thinking about all possibilites, but except for that I love the interior....Hrrrm. I thought the trunk material was pretty cheap:mad: then again who cares about that

...but the cost...that's the reason.;)

when I went to the dealer, it was closed, I stopped at 9:30pm.
I saw a black Hatch with gfx, another "midnight blue" sedan without gfx.
me and my gf are going to take a closer look tomorrow (friday).
we never knows...maybe handing the P5 to my gf and getting a 3 :)

Sedan: Titanium, Black
Sport: Winning Blue, Silver, Titanium.
If I were your gf (poke) I wouldn't take your p5 and let you get the 3! Huh!

I had a testdrive yesterday. The dealer I went to just received a shipment of 10 cars in the morning and the range included all trims (except they didn't have Sport GS). A good selection of colours too, including a Sand Mica sedan GT with GFX (quite the interesting colour/option combo).

If you mean brochures, the answer is no. Actually the dealers do have a few copies of them for internal use (less than 5). But that's not enough for customer distribution (so when you ask them they say they don't have any).
Ottawa dealers suck arse! I called every one of them and asked what they have in stock. "Oh, we have a whole lot of them; name it, we've got it" they say. So I ask if they have a Ti Sedan GT w/GFX and Leather. "Oh, no we don't have that. We don't have any with GFX.
One in particular that I called said he had a Ti Sedan GT (no GFX, no leather) but it was already sold. He said I could go look at it though. After work, I go to the dealership and ask for the dude I talked to. I ask to see the car. He tells me that he only received one Mazda 3; an orange sedan GT, and it's sold and gone.
I am not impressed. I'm pretty pissed. For the hell of it I called another dealership and asked how much a Sedan GT was going for. He tells me $25K. These guys are crazy! I hate the Ottawa car market.

JUst passed by the mazda dealer at brossard. Saw a purple Mazda 3 (sedan version). Looks a lot like the Rx-8 to me.
WOAAA...we just had a fire execrice, had to evacuate(flame2) and anyhow, while standing on St-Viateur (lil' italy) you look left and right and all you see is MAZDA :D

I know what you mean about the Ottawa dealers, they do suck. I decided to go and see what the Ottawa dealers had and it was pathetic. First of all, they don't have any 3's in the showroom, just Protege's which they're having trouble selling, so you have to go look in the back lots (where they try to hide them) to find any 3's. One dealer only had one hatchback and about 4 base model sedans, the other dealer had no hatchbacks and 3 sedans. I asked one of the sales guys why they don't have more stock and why no 3's are in the showroom and he said they don't want to start pushing the 3's until their Protege stock is sold. He said most people don't know about the 3's and they want to keep it like that until they sell their old stock.
If you want to see the 3's and you get a chance go to Albi Mazda (just north of Mtl) they have every single color and model and it's no problem getting a test drive.
