ok so today i was in a parking lot rollin pretty slow (5mph maybe) and i hit a curb straight on, god, i didn't even see it, straight on and over and off the other side, it made horrible noises and was rough, so the wheels look ok (from the outside) and the tires arn't flat, and there is a fat dent on the downpipe(whatever you wanna call it) and a scratch on one of the support bars (that runs parrallel to the car)
i looked as best i could w/o removing wheels and the tiebars and sway bars look OK.... so, is there anything i need to check out? there seems to be a bit of a clunk now in the rear driver side but that may have always been there, it still drives straight on the freeway and no hopping (from a fucked up wheel) that i can detect
any opinons/suggestions/help?

Umm..suggestion...don't do it again. jk
Have the tires checked for damage, a belt might be bad.
Maybe touch up the scraped part underneath so it doesn't rust.
Make sure header isn't leaking.
Good luck, hope nothing is seriously wrong.

If it isn't pulling in any one direction (the sign of a needed front end alignment), and its not hopping (bent rim), I say count yourself lucky and don't sweat it.
As far as that clunk....try to pinpoint when exactly it happens. Around a corner? When you hit a small bump/dent in the road? When you stop or take off? That kind of stuff. That might help you find out exactly what is causing it.
Hopefully its nothing more than the paranoia of a man who loves his car and just recently ran over a curb. :p

hey man- don't feel too bad about it- had my car for a week and scraped the front bumper on a cement post in a parking garage- too used to my little crx- sounded like breaking glass, but it just scratched it up a bit.

I was driving my miata along the road at around 30 mph when I saw someone fall off their bike. I was busy looking at her and not the road and I drove straight into the curb...Terrible noise but nothing wrong. I kind of side-swiped it...Lots of road rash on the rim but that's it. Not the same as your incident but probably same noise! Your car should be OK.
