View Full Version : Cruise Control HELP!
hey guys. did a search but couldnt find anything useful...
okay, on the steering wheel there are the buttons... i know HOW TO USE MY CRUISE CONTROL, i have used it before. well now, it doesnt work. i looked for a fuse and couldnt find any and everytime i turn it on, or try to, i can hear a clicking noise coming from the glove compartment area. i changed some things in the motor, but only vaccume hoses and ground wires, could that effect anything?! thanks!!! - chris

You say you changed some things in motor. Do you mean some modifications? I think the cruise control mechanism (located near the firewall on the passenger side of the engine compartment) works off of engine vacuum. I was surprised by this since many other cars use electro-mechanical devices that do not rely on vacuum. Anyway, if you modified anything that would rob some of the vacuum from the engine, there may not be enough to power the cruise control diaphram in that cylinder-shaped mechanism. Other than that, a vacuum leak would seem to be the culprit.
btw, I also hear that clicking noise when I turn on the cruise. Seems like its normal.
ohic thanks flipper. i change some hoses tonight and see what happens tomorrow, thanks again! - chris
