View Full Version : Flag on Moonroof?

Anybody have it done? I wanted to put the original 13 star's flag or the British Union Jack flag on my moonroof (because it's the perfect shape). I called up my local decal shop (Vigg Designs in Freehold, NJ - awsome place), and they said that it's impossible to do. I know that SUV's get elaborate designs on their back windows, and they are transparent, so I know its not IMPOSSIBLE. Anyway, just seeing if anyone has had it done, or, of anybody knows somewhere I can order it from. Thanks to anyone who responds. I know it's an odd post, and I honestly don't think anyone has done it, or even thought about doing it, but I'm just tossing it out there.

if it was like a tint, wouldn't it get damaged from the some hitting it hard?

nah, I wouldn't want it to be a tint. I would want it to be something that could be removed when I sell the car, so it would make sense to have it be a decal. I know they make transparent decals, so that is what I was shooting for

I can imagine it would be expensive, but yes you're right, it can be done. Try getting a hold ofSpeed Graphics (http://www.speedgraphics.net). They will do custom stuff, and they already have one that's exactly what you're looking for, only a different design. You can see it here (http://www.speedgraphics.net/cgi-bin/quikstore.cgi?store=&search=yes&detail=yes&product=SW004&category=slamwrap&keywords=&hits_seen=&page=search.html&and=&affiliate_id=null&exact_match=yes).

if you can find a shop that will cut the design or let me know what all you need to do it i sell the rear window graphics from 3 different companies and maybe able to get the material.. it would have to go on the outside of the sunroof though

Yeah, it was my intent to have it go on the outside of the moonroof anyway. That is what my local decal shop does. They have a very, very light adhesive on the back of them, so if you don't like it after a while, or it starts to fade after a few years, it can be taken off and replaced. N2OInferno, thanks for the site. I'll check it out, and KYMP5, thanks for the help. If you just take a look at the Union Jack flag, I just want it to look like that. It would be a completely blue backround, with a wider white stripe behind a thiner blue stripe. Here is a pic that might help:

Other than that, I might be misunderstanding what you are saying. Again, thank you for your help.

You're right. Damn, that is way more than I thought it would be, but yes, I am looking for the same material as that, just a diffrent, simpler design (in the Union Jack Flag). I'm gunna check my local shop again, and bring my car with me this time, because the last time I asked about it, I did so over the phone. So, maybe explaining it in person would be better.

Is there a perfectly good reason why you would put a British Union Jack flag on a Japanese car and that is not made in the U.K.??

He might be from the UK...
I've got an american flag on my car. I don't think there's anything wrong with that...

Close... I'm half English. My father is Italian, my Mother is English, and I have no mannerisms of an Italian. I seem to get a lot of traits from my moms side of the family. But to be perfectly honest, above all else, I think it would kinda look cool.

NP. That's most people's reaction - lol. Some people still think it's stupid for the exact reasoning you gave, but I think it's gonna look pretty cool.
I took my roof rack and my wind guard, and it looks like a diffrent car. I got so used to those things bein up there. I'm not sure if I should leave em off or not...
