This has been an issue for a number of years when speaking of the original glass that comes in our cars. I was unfortunate enough to lose my windshield to a very large bird when I had only a few thousand miles on my P5, I had the glass shop replace it with a PPG windshield, as PPG has been an OEM supplier for most all domestic cars for eons and they make a VERY high quality product. The installer even showed me where my replacement windshield was a bit thicker than the original. Well my wifes P5 shows the minor pitting that yours does from the normal wear and tear of dirt and dust on the roads and in the air....an mine is still crystal clear. SO, I attribute it to the original glass being not that great.

It's nothing new, happenes all the time..

Little pebbles flinging off of your windshield..

I do a lot of highway driving, my neon had paint peeling off the bumper, and the windshield had to be replaced from all the pitting..

My p5 is 2 months old, and I can see some spots already on the windshield.
