Cool air+MSP with a good Downpipe=WOW

Sup all,

Installed the protosport dp this weekend and let me tell you...the car is a totaly different beast! For all the people with MSPs who are noticing the fact that their car is slower at WOT than it is at partial throttle, a downpipe will change that. The car actually pulls hard all the way to redline and no more does it go slower at WOT. There's less heat build up as well. And the sound is very nice, deep and noticeable with a pop here and there :) I did get the o2 sensor mod and it works fine. Overall, the car feels like a cork has been removed from the exhaust. Must have been the easiest install I've ever done even with the few fitment issues I had. Now I can't wait until I free the rest of the exhaust system up. I'm gonna keep the stock muffler and get 2.5" pipes for the rest of the system.

Good to know. Mine definitely feels faster at partial throttle than WOT.....looks like Ion's full turbo back may be in my future.

It defintly sounded louder that normal also. When i was following you on suday it sounded much deeper than the stock exhaust.

You noticed huh Paul...I let my cousin drive the car and actually heard it from outside for a change...You are right my friend hehe. Girth, remember the conversation we had earlier about this partial/WOT concern we had. Well, this is the solution as far as I can tell. I guess that theory about more air in than out will give you that feeling is right.

Is it safe to answer that question Paul??? hehe The hesitation went away on it's own after I removed the FPR kit. Must have installed it incorrectly. The dealer gave me new rear rotors, but that didn't solve the brake vibration(no shit). Now they're going to cut my front rotors on wed. I had a coolant leak, and the dealer did replace the callaway hoses, but it still leaks more than before...lol. They're going to work on that as well. Everything else is pretty good, other than the weak motor mounts. I'll prolly by the front AWR for now. The dealer replaced my bushings for me and the bar is pretty quite now.. Also, the dealer supposetly flashed my car, but I dont feel a difference and actually drove jersey_emt's car and could tell a difference right away. I'm gonna take the car somewhere else to get the flash. Other than that, the car is good now. Oh, I also had to get my alarm replaced. Works like a champ now.

Wow you could actually smell the exhaust from my car in your car?? Damn, better get that high flow cat on soon hehe. I almost shitted my pants when i saw that sign for "exhaust check poing ahead" during our "drive" lol. Thank God the cops were checking the exhaust on bikes only.

your car seems a little more responsive b/c the little ballbearing turbo. once my car gets moving it goes pretty fast. I can tell i have a lil more lag than you guys, but i will fly up on you pretty quick. Im also only running 7psi currently(on a T3).

It just smelled like exhaust just a little stronger than normal. I wasnt sure if it was my car or yours, now it makes sense. I was wondering what those cops where doing :confused:

i didnt notice to much with the wires, It seems to idle a bit smoother, not much though. It seems more people are having problems with them, than they are doing good.

I use Mapopolis Navigator (www.mapopolis.com)..I've found it's the best value for the money. The maps aren't the prettiest around (they're not ugly or hard to read or anything, but other programs look more slick). But route calculation is one of the fastest, navigation is very accurate, and re-routing if you miss a turn is instantaneous.

I dropped .7 sec in the 1/4mile with the downpipe. Thats at 9psi before and after.

Yeah you gotta get some awr's. Yeah it sucked I started too soon then slammed on the brakes before I went to far but I was hitting my brakes as the light went green so I just revd up and and dropped the clutch, got bad wheel hop plus the slow start. My friend with the wrx never broke 13's last night his best run was against me. Jersey_emt came up with that everyone should go to englishtown this friday you should go too.

I understand. If I go this friday I don't want to wheel hop at all. I'll burn out the clutch before I do it again. :D
