New owner of a MSP, just curious about something. I've looked at my rims several times and noticed 1 out of the 4 rims is darker than the rest. Has anyone else had this problem? I have the dark chrome rims; one of them just seems to be darker than the rest. Sorry if this is an already answered question. I tired to find it in search.

hrm...the 2003.5's had darker rims than the 2003's. Maybe something happend and they gave you a different rim. Eather way take it to your dealer and bitch.

I don't think they could have mixed up a 03 rim with an 03.5; that would be a HUGE difference.
Yeah, just go to the dealer, they shouldn't give you a problem.

is the darker rim spotted, or is the whole rim the same hue? some cleaners erode the hyperblack finish and it'll turn REALLY dark.... this may be the case with your rim.

I've had the car for about a month now. I've washed it only twice and only used car and a brush to clean the rims. When I first got the car it looked a bit strange, but when other people comment about it and I began to think it's not just me. It's just darker that the other rims. The other 3 are not as chromie as the 2003 models. Thanks for all the replies I was curious if this had happend to any other MSP's. I will try to take a photo to show the contrast. I have to take the car to get the oil changed and suggest they fix the numerous problems with the car.

I will post some pics tomorrow.
dealer re-paint it for some reason?
this is weird. You can't mix up the 2003 and 2003.5 rims....wayy to different

Are you certain it's not just an accumulation of brake dust? OK, I know that's a stretch......but that's 1 reason I prefer the 2003 rims -- they're bright when clean but once they get dirt and brake dust on them they just look like the 2003.5 wheels. It's almost as good as owning both sets of wheels!

i WAS suggesting that the dealer had messed it up. some dealers have had to re-order wheels because they made some of the wheels darker. it may be too late to get the dealership to replace it though.... go talk to them about the cleaners they used and see if they can't replace it for you.

they didn't mix up the wheels... he has a 03.5 and 3 of the wheels are hyperblack, but one is MUCH darker.....

Ok below is a link to the pics of the wheels, there is a side by side and then just a side shot. I belive mx3ownzj00 might be correct in that this wheel is just darker than the rest (factory mistake). These photos are of of the wheels just cleaned, so no brake dust.

I apologise I'm not sure how to just link a pic attachment to the reply yet. Let me know what you Speed lovers think.

From the gathering of knowledge from this thread, I have come to the conclusion that it is a manufacturer defect, and am going to take it to the dealer to see what can be done. Thank you all for your help, I just needed a 2nd or 3rd option. I wish it was brake dust ;)
someone repainted it and didn't match it
. Maybe it was curbed on a test drive or something.
And , the 2003 do NOT look like the 2003.5's when they have dust on them. Your smoking crack :)
