just thought I would share this with everybody before it starts to snow...I pulled off all the trim and took out the seats to lay the plastic so it would cover every thing....now I don't have to worry about the carpet getting ruined. :Dhttp://msprotege.com/vbb230/galleryuser.php?s=&userid=&gallery=mazdaspeed/

I have floor mats that cover the plastic that I bought so i would not ruin the ones that came with the car

I used to live in Amarillo, actually. (Right off 34th & Teckla) It did snow quite a bit there. Good job on the idea & you just got points for taking care of your car. :D

good idea. :)

I'm probably just gonna buy some winter mat's to protect the stock ones.

By now its usually cold and snowed once, but its 80 degrees and supposed to stay that way all week...:D

Did you attach the plastic up under the dash in any way? I guess if it's cut around the seats it's probably not really going anywhere.

Great idea! Looks pretty good!

Great idea! Looks pretty good! thanks... I just took off all the floor trim and put the plastic under the trim then replaced it all and I also removed the seats so the plastic would go all the way to the back seats then bolted the seats back down on the plastic so nothing can move.

What about if your shoes are wet..... is it slippery?? I have a feeling my heels would slip on it.

Looks like the beginning of an accident. Just dont let your feet slip and miss the break or any of that.

I live in the Dallas area and we get maybe a week or snow MAX here. It all depends on where in TX you live.

I just put rubber floor mats over mine and it does a pretty good job.

I thought it was Houston hates snow? Or maybe it's a mutual hate?

Just when I was a kid. I remember the snow, though... Hell, one year, I made a Ninja Turtle snowman and we were in the paper. I was SOOO excited. Then we moved to Dallas and then here in Austin. Can't say I miss the snow that much.

:( I miss snow.

They cancel school and close the mall here (SC) if there are flurries in the forecast, and good luck getting anywhere near the grocery store. *sigh*

And when it actually does snow a little bit, it rarely sticks, but everyone holes up in their homes anyway.

It almost makes me think fondly on the days of chipping layers of ice-snow-ice-snow off the windshield at 3 am so I could go open at McDonald's.

hey, you took my idea. This is what I do. But I use the SUV plastic mats that have little teeth on them so they don't slip, and hold everything in place with velcro, and then use rubber mats on top. The carpet ones will come out.

same kinda idea though. Should work out well
