My name is Amy and I am from the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area and I just bought an 03.5 Titanium MSP. I figued that I would sign up to get more info on it and see if there are other people around me that also have MSP's. I am no stranger to the import world, I had a 97 Civic and an 01 Sentra Se which I am trading in for the MSP. I basically just wanted to say Hi and get to know some people.

I am picking up my car Tomorrow at Kings Mazda in the Kings Auto Mall :)

Here is a pic of what my car looked like before I parted it out yesterday.

And After-the wheels are sold its getting stock wheels for the drive to the dealership

It was a good car, but it has a lot of miles 110,500 and it was broken into this summer and hasn't quite been the same since.

I hope to hear from some local people if there are any

thanks, it has been through a lot. i have autocrossed it, drag raced it, as well as a few road races and open track days. it had nitrous for a while, and was turbo'd for a couple months before I decided to sell it. It was good to me but its time to move on to bigger and better :)

Jeeez, you give everycar you own a run for its money. Also what kind of turbo and bottle kit did you have?

nissan avenier ball bearing t25, all factory stuff from a DET except for the MSD 38lb injectors and the SAFC. I sold the stuff for about 700 more then I paid so I didn't mind getting rid of the turbo kit lol. I had it on a ZEX 55 shot for about 3-4 months before I sold that.

I am a total car girl. I do all my own work ,from oil change to turbo install. It helps that I was an automotive technology major before I moved to Ky a year ago :)

yep yep that was me. I don't go there much ,my bf made me sign up to piss his ex-gf off. I didn't know that when I signed up though.

I have so many guys asking if my bf did all the work and stuff and its just like nope I did it and most of them don't believe me. Its funny.

You have to bear with me though b.c I am just beginning to learn about the MSP. The first time I ever had anything to do with one was last weekend when I test drove it for fun. I was going to get a corolla S or a Civic Si. but after driving it there was no way I was getting one of those. :)

Welcome! Just remember, if you have a question, do a search first, before posting. People on here are real jerks about that. Anyway, your Sentra looked nice. I dig the black housing headlights-I have them on my black honda.(thumb)

yeah i know all about how most Noobs are treated, so I will search and have been.

I would love to go to the meet in Louisville, I will see if I can make it.

I think that if you do your own work you gain more pride from it then if you pay someone to do it. Plus its fun :)

Thanks for all the kind words. I did custom black housings on my stock lights but then decided to make custom HID projectors. After a while I got rid of them and went back to the regular blacked out lights. I spent about 2 months getting the projectors just right. Cost me a crap load in OEM projector lights and all that . Here are some pics

(hi)

Enjoy the MSP! Do a search on "hesitation" and make sure your dealer did the "flash" before you pick the car up or you'll be disappointed in the acceleration between 2800 and 5000RPM when the original programming pulled the timing wa-ay back... new Mazda flash seems to have cured it.

Check the MP3 boards for the rear suspension "clunk" you'll get at about 6kmiles... seems Mazda has a cure for that pending, or one of us is going to get Racing Beat (or others) to make a bracket to mount the OE bushings further out on the bar (check the "clunk" thread for deails).

When your radio craps out just reset it and you'll be fine, that should happen about 800 miles and occur roughly every 4kmiles for the rest of the radio's life, a minor iconvenience but a quirk in this car.

Sounds like I'm trying to talk you out of the car - absolutely NOT - "I love my Mazdaspeed" (R) (that's a trademarked saying from AGR, one of the long-term residents here - you'll get a welcome post from him eventually, with some of his trademark humor...). Seriously, this is the second most fun OE/stock car I've driven (first was a Mini S JCW... which is SLIGHTLY too small for a 3-kid family guy like me... but had me LAUGHING OUT LOUD during the test drive... same thing happened in the MSP...). Others have found that the engine is tuned pretty highly, doesn't take to TOO many more HP before new internals are required, but the car is light, plenty powerful, and handles like it's on rails - and it's not a Honda. I came from the VW world and this is as close as I've found to the euro "feel" in a smaller box. I smile every time I drive this car.

Oh - and get ahold of daveB for the bezel rings for the dash - dresses it up REALLY well, and he and Kelly are the ABSOLUTE BEST people I've ever done business with.

So... welcome! Enjoy! (2thumbs) (burnout)

Well thank you for all that ,It saved me a little bit in search time. I must say that you guys are pretty cool, over on some other boards-nissan, noobs get flamed to death for just saying hi. Thanks for the warm welcome and I hope to be as happy with my car as most of you are, I'm sure I will :)

Welcome 01Se_to_03MSP, It's nice to see another girl in to cars. I also work on my own, show them and race them. How long have you been working on cars?

I have been into cars since I had my civic . I had a totally stock one for the first couple years and then I saw an SCC mag with a silver civic that looked soo good and I started reading about modding cars. Haven't stopped since then. One more hour :)

Just got the stockies on my sentra ,had a flat so I put on the spare, the dealership guy said it was ok that i didn't replace the tire if i left in the aftermarket headunit. Well I had 2 of them so I put the crappiest one in lol

I have loved cars from the age of 4yrs old. I had 200 matchbox cars before I was 8 and move on from there, to building RC cars, to rebuilding real cars. I've been working on my Mx3 for 5 years now and now I'm selling my show car. It's sad to let a part of go, but I need a new project so my MS will volunteer. Playtime will never be over. I hope the best to you and your new project too.(flash)

Hey! - I live in Cincy! I just bought my MSP from Kings about a month ago too! I love it! I didn't know about getting it flashed until after I bought it :( I just had that done this week and it did make a difference.

I'll probably wait until spring to add some things for more hp. If you do anything let me know. Ever go to Edgewater?

B) you know what I'm thinking here.

I just got back from a long day of seeing friends and putting about 200 miles on my new car. I love the way it takes off from 3000 - 4000 . I don't know if it has been flashed or not, I don't really notice any hesitation and it seems to pull really hard from 3000 and up. I guess my best bet is just to ask.

Dumb noob question, I searched but didn't find anything, how do you know what production number your car is? I hope not to get flamed for that lol.

Hey BKiefer I think I saw you on 275 last weekend with race numbers on your car. It looked good and thats why we went to go look at them and BOOM a week later I own one :) Thanks if that was you.

That wasnt me on 275 (no race numbers). You have the exact same car I have! One bad thing - I had to get a hosse replaced already :( It was leaking antifreeze!
