View Full Version : ES needs new fogs...
Alright, I'm really fed up with my stock fog lights. First the bolt broke and i had to go get it drilled out by a machine shop, only to have them drill it out to a bolt size thats impossible to find. Then my quest to find a way to get the lights to appear yellow has been frustrating. Its more trouble than its worth.
So here's my question, are there any sedan owners (not MSP or MP3) that have put aftermarket fog lights in, if so where did you install them. And do you have any good pics?
Thanks
Jeff

Same thing happened to me, however, I replaced the broken lights with brand new ones from Mazda. I then took the srews out, bought some allen head screws, lubed them with tons of anti-sieze, and stuck 'em back in. It was a horrible ordeal, but I have been running like this now for almost a year with no bulb-outs.

get piaa
Yeah, I would get new ones from Mazda but they are $125 each, and i'm not willing to pay that much for foglights. I guess i could just have the machine shop retap it to a regular screw size. But I would rather have different fogs altogether at this point.
get piaa
That doesn't help me at all. First off, what does PIAA make that would fit nicely into my stock location, nothing that i know of. Second the stock location has a weird bracket/pocket thingy to hold the stock one in place, so it severly limtis my choices. If i get one that fills up most of the fog opening, Its too deep and the pocket or whatever interferes. Someone help PLEASE

look at www.piaa.com and see if they have something that may fit. piaa makes a "factory" replacement for the p5 and mp3 but even it requires modifying the mounts to hold them. unless you get factory lights you will almost definitely have to mod the mounts. if you find a piaa light you like let me know and i can help you out if you want it. i just suggested piaa because they are the only ones i am familar with and they are cheaper than a pair of o.e. lights.
I have an ES sedan, not a P5 or an MP3, which means i don't have the nice round shaped fog lights. :) I wish i had round ones, then it would be easy to find new ones...

I ordered the accessory fog light kit from mazdastuff.com for $187. (much less than the cost of two replacement lights) I then recuperated some of my cost by selling my old lights along with the rest of the kit.
Hmmm, i think i have an idea, i'm going to take pics and let you see them later. Could be lots of work though... But they will be nice and yellow just like i want.
Alright heres the finished product almost a week later. The pics don't do them justice, they are very very yellow, and i love them. Let me know what you guys think.

me too, U want the MP3 bumper because it doesnt have the amber lenses on it.
Well i want the MP3 bumper eventually too. But what are my options right now. A lot for one fog, a lot more for the MP3 bumper, rebar, and wheel wells, or 75 dollar fogs that my friend used to have on his jeep that i bought off of him for 25?
