Has anyone tried to install a p5 front end to a Protege 2002 model. It looks like it can be done with some modification. so wondering if anyone has tried to do this.

I can't remember where I saw it but it has been done. the person said it was a direct bolt on no mods except for the wheel well where there is a small gap between the bottom of the front fender and the flashing(don't know what that material is called) inside the wheel well.

Ah man remember.. J/k.. reason why is that I can have access to a P5 bumper and it should be better quality material then fiber glass. Well if you can remember let me know.

Thanks.

PS. at least I know there is hope.

u will need the bumper cover, the bumper support under it, both grills, fog lamps, and both inner fender wells. this will get u 95% done there might need some small things. i cloned a mp3 out of a dx pro.

Mazdamastertech,

so there are no fabs' I have to worry about. It just be bolts on? I figured I would have to fab up a bracket or something. If not cooool makes life easier. Now the question for me is to get the rest of the stuff needed.

Thanks.

it goes right on...all you need is all the Pieces Parts.....after all....the MP3 and P-5 have the same front end/bumber piece.

Mazdamastertech or anyone know where to find or have the correct parts to order or ask for. Most people at the dealers don't know much about anything except for looking things up and quess (not saying that there aren't people at dealers that know there sh*t).

Thanks for all the help in advance.

After the body shop finishes putting my P5 back together I will ask for the list they made of replacement parts(ALL OEM). I think it was 2 or 3 pages though so, yikes!
The basics of the cars are the same so it should involve the exact same parts. And yes I needed to replace ALL of the parts to connect the front end.
I might be wrong about the parts compatability.Anyone else with knowledge on this care to chime in?
