Well, I went to Reneck Subaru here in So Cal on Tuesday. I guess they have this meet at the dealership and they give out free food and prizes. Of course I went to the last one until Feb. Well, everyone was leaving and my two cousins and friend and I were checking out the STI's on display. One of the workers jumped into a blue one and sped off around the block. We could hear him burning out and ripping turns. A few minutes later he goes and parks it in the back. He then goes to a black STI and jokingly we ask to go with him. He said he was just taking all the cars for a spin around the block to let the turbo's settle in and we were welcome to come as long as we all fit. There were only four of us so we jumped in.
He pulled off the lot and burned out. We hit 60 in no time even with 5 people in the car. Our necks still jerked back and we could feel the car pulling. Then the guy thought he could be cool and take a sharp right turn into a dark street. I was in the back middle and all I could see was what the headlights shined on. As we were taking the turn the back end pushed towards the left. Then right in front of us I saw and island so the guy turned the wheel to the left and sent the back end to the right. At this point I was wondering when the AWD was going to kick in. The guy couldn't get the car to correct itself (too much oversteer) and the right back end of the car jumped the curb and went over the MPH sign. We then fell stright down and immediately ran out the car.
We looked at the car and the back axle was bent so bad that the rear tire...or the whole rim was bent under the car. The whole back end was smashed together and the back right window and taillight were shattered.
There wasn't a scratch on us and we were all ok. I just wonder what the dealership is going to do to that guy.

Hahahaha. "let the turbos settle in"

Riiiiiight. Uh-huh. I bet the d0rk was just trying to show off. What a stupid dick.

Glad you're all right, mrpopn.

I have heard of too many dealership employees taking cars for spins and f'n them up.

"I can't afford this car, but I can drive it because I work here!"
*VRRRRROOOM* *SCREECH* *CRASH*
"Awww maaaaan. This sucks."
"WHAT?!@$??@#%?#?%$!?@#$?#@$ YOU'RE!^@!$&@^!&^%#@&$^(*&^!@ FIRED!@*^$&*@!^%*&@#^$*&^@!*&%$#@^$*&^!@#"
"Damn. I can't drive the cars anymore. :("

...And they're usually young idiots.

Haha...that's true. As for pics, we don't have any. There were a lot of sweet Subies there too. Trust me...I'm keep kicking myself in the head cuz I forgot my digital camera!!
We did however pick up the fog light cover that says STI on it. I can take a pic of that. We kept it as living proof I guess you could say.

Another classic example of drivers not understanding the car they are driving and how it functions, plus how weight effects a cars performance (not just straight line but weight transfer wise).

Glad your ok, but after hearing him squeel around I wouldn't have jumped in a heavily loaded car with him.

i worked for mazda as a porter( or what u so lovingly call young idiots) which he might have been. working there long enough an accident is bound to happen. U sometimes get too comfortable with the cars and then get careless, it has nothing to do with age. where i worked they wernt even shocked when i backed into one of those yellow barrier pilons in a 2003 Miata SE at like 1 mile/hr. i was scared to death...they were like shit happen, it eventually happens to everyone, and mine wasnt even close to being as bad as some of the mechanics wrecks (totalled 1993 RX-7 RS!!!) RAAZ227 as for them not driving your car ya right!!!;)

Yeah, the dude was like in his early 40's. He was just pushing the car harder than normal because he wanted to show off. What I couldn't understand was how he was surprised to see the island in front of us if he was taking all the cars this route.
