View Full Version : Clutch for Mazdaspeed Tranny

I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for. I am about to put a Mazdaspeed Tranny in my P5 and was wondering if my clutchmasters clutch and fidanza flywheel will fit. I guess the only thing that would be different would be the splines on the output shaft. Anyone know if they are the same?

am I missing something here?

is there a special Mazdaspeed tranny or did you just take a tranny from a Mazdspeed?

Because the Mazdaspeed tranny is the same as the p5, so i'm a little confused.

I believe the MSP has dif gear ratios.

Nah, just a lsd and stronger shift fork. That's what I hear anyway.

whats the benefit of a stronger shift fork? i know about LSDs but what does the shift fork do and where in the tranny is it located?

protege shift forks like to break, so a stronger one helps prefent that.

The shift fork is what slides the gears back and forth. Start here: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/transmission.htm and read the five pages. Great stuff!

Thats correct, mainly I am concerned with the LSD. I broke my P5 tranny and want to replace it, so I may as well get the Mazdaspeed since it already has the LSD installed.

Yes clutchmaster is fucking garbage. At only 6 PSI mine chatters like a bastard down shifting to 2nd and 1st and is even slipping.

I am selling am MSP trans for 650 it was taken of my buddies MSP and am trying to get like 650 for it as a whole...................
