The compartment under the headunit, that is. I did a search and some people said it just snapped into place, but it doesn't want to come out so easily. I'm thinking I might have to take the whole trim piece off to access some screws or something. Can anyone tell me the safest way to remove this thing without breaking it, or anything else for that matter?

1. remove glove box
2. push out center trim through back, lower part first.
3. unplug 3 electrical connecters and two cables on each side of dash board.
4. use a screw driver (standard, flat head) and pop out compartment.

Or you can just slide two butter knives in the side to disengage the clips and pull out.

You guys are making this more difficult than it really is. The first thing you need is someone with long skinny arms (like me). First, I got on my back & reached up to the left side of the pocket through the dash & pushed in the driver side clip. Then I opened the glove box (no need to take it out) & put my hand up there & pushed in the passenger side clip. This one is kinda tricky & if you're not careful, you can scratch up your arm or almost get stuck. After that, the pocket just pulls out. I tried the butter knives trick & I even had a radio installer at Best Buy try to get it out with stereo keys before I decided to do this. It's the easiest way in my opinion.
