Any new mod coming out? Cams? Headers?
I hope someone's developing them :(
Did you really just ask for headers for an msp?

It's okay, he's still a newb...
Being a Newb is no excuse for wanting a header for a turbo charged vehical.
Although I should be nicer as not everyone understands the pateneted 1sty humor with that little time into the boards.
So lets help (thumb)
A turbo car does not use a header!
The exhuast manifold (called a header on a naturaly aspired car) is actualy directly bolted and feed exhuast into the turbo. If you were to replace it with a "header" you would be removing the turbo to.
Oh and for cams. There are some avialable but they are not very effective on a turboed car. Custom is the way to go here.

well, I'm sure a tubular exhaust mani. wouldn't hurt performance... maybe "header" is all he could think of to call it (shrug)

does the recent "ecu flash" count as a mod?

i know im not up and up on the turbo'ed pro info but there are the j-spec cams. i hear they have a longer duration with the same lift so they dont need any work to the vaulve train. again im unsure of how they would work out with the forced breathing.

overlap = bad for FI, you push your fuel right out the exhaust valve.

the j-spec intake cam and mazdaspeed exhaust should work very well with the MSP with cam gears so you can take out the overlap

Just barely
Also once you chuck it then you have the ability to run any of the real turbo setups. SPool, high boost, MPI, ect.

how true... but a bigger turbo, and tubi. exhaust mani. wouldn't be so hard, and certainly not a bad idea if you are gonna increase the flow of the exhaust

It's amazing how my stock T25 beat a MSP with a full T3/04e hybrid turbo setup with about $7k dropped into it. Don't talk shit about our turbos. :)
Now if his car were properly tuned, it would have been a completely different beast. The same could be said for our cars, though.
Who the hell was bested witha full t3/04, sounds like it wasn't tuned worth crap.
I'm not talking shit I am talking reality, the T25 is basicly the smallest turbo, Also we were discussing perfomance upgrades. Do you disagree you have more options if you remove the t25?
Oh and for another point NO ONE has yet to find a T25 compressor map so we can actualy find effeciency with it on this car. Everything is speculation.

Craig, bet I get 300 WHP out of my t-25 :D On stock internals, with just a piggyback.
Lets say, a nice beer as a bet ?
Feel lucky ? Come on, ya know you wanna.
I'm in.
Heres the catch. he car has to run 300 whp for 6 months(or 5000 miles) with no reliability issues and no racing gas :D

freakin a! i had all the info on the baby turbo a while ago. i posted it in some thread. everyone was all "oh if i had the ar, trim, ect. i could make some better decisions..." so i went and got them. then the thread got lost. now EVERYONE is looking for that shit!!!

No probems. :D I am getting a spare engine from a junkyard. THAT engine will go forged, and 500 WHP. I was "inspired" by a dream last nite.
Ohhhh the custom plate, EVO KILLR :D
As far as reliability, if tuned right, no issues. I got a whole slew of parts coming soon, and some custom fabbed parts too. :
I posted that I wanted a map over a month ago. no one had anything. The only thig there was wasa ruff map that compared different turbos but didn't have dick for info.
Find one like this.

Ah so the wager was not as advertised. I assumed as much.
I still stand firmly that no car will be relible with 250 whp on stock internals.

IIRC, I called turbonetics, when I first got my MSP. The guy I spoke with said that he did not know much about the t-25, but assumed that it was good to about 14-16 psi. After that, the efficiency dropped off severly.
This IS speculation though. Based on assumptions, because the t-28 is good for about 24-26 psi. :D

OHhh, no, its stock t-25, stock inernals, with upgraded RAD, IC, Oil cooler, and piggyback. :D
Basic bolt on included to, exhaust, intake, wtuff like that. :D
Effeciency is relative though and to the actualt amount of exhuast gas flowing.
Even Garrett limits the T25 to under 250 hp of power and thats at the engine.
Google time :D

heh, i'm actually planning on changing to the t28 components later on. should be much cheaper to use my existing housing than buying an entirely new turbo.

actually, it wont Face bro. :D
If everything goes as planned, I will be unveiling the EVO KILLR at Import War, in Hershey Pa next march. :D

A wise decision it appears.
I have talked to about everyone I can get to listen and between that and constant searches it seems everyon is in agreement that a T25 is good for 250 crank hp and 220 whp. After that its just pointless to keep using it.
A T28 seems agreed to be good for 260 crank hp.
Ofcoarse you can get higher ooutput but at the expense of reliability, majr engine management needs, not to mention of octane ratings.

I'm sure as Perfworks would point out, the proper term will be "STOCK" Evo killer (rofl)

in Pa aren't you only allowed 7 letters/or #'s, no protege will be much of a EVO killer, or like perf and 1st said stock evo. That car has so much potenial. Im probally stopping myself around 250whp. forged internals is a costly process. i would love to see how long our motors hold up any where above 200whp. Also if your gonna be doing serious modding, do yourself a favor a get a wideband o2. That is the best damn thing i bought for my car.

OK, since you guys seem to know what you're talking about, can you answer 2 ?s:
Are the "custom cams" something you could swap out without changing anything else?
Would these pulleys be any benefit to the MSP? http://www.srmotorsports.com/protege.htm

210 to 250 in three posts. Very impressive.
