first off "censor" is spelled sensor
the earlier spelling is for the FCC;)

you probably mean the air temp sensor located in the intake tract
you can put it anywhere before the TB

many might differ but i would just go to a shop and have them bend some pipe custom. It will be MUCH cheaper and you can mix and match your own resonator or muffler.

believ it or not the first cat isnt that bad once you start to modify the rest of the system. Meaning from the first cat outlet you go to 2.25 for N/A operation. To a 2.25 aftermarket cat and a nice turbo straight thru muffler.
It will sound good and be much much cheaper
But if you want more performance do what acid did and get a nice header and custom pipe underneath.
See summit racing online. they have the best price for a nice high flow cat that performs well and good deals on a nice sounding muffler.
Take those pieces to an exhaust shop and say put it on.
If in your state they may say they wont replace the cat. Take it off yourself and drive the car there with just the components you want installed. By law they will tell you they cant touch it in some cases.
