I can't figure out what size wrenchs to buy for my Pro 3. The manual trans drain and check seem to not be metric or SAE, the same goes for lug nuts. A 13/16 is too tight and a 22mm is too loose; whats the deal? Has Mazda come out with their own sizes?
I worked in the motorcycle business for years and they had some "special" sizes there, cost a fortune to buy all the tools.:(

You should be able to do almost any routine maintenance with a metric socket set spanning 10mm to 24mm (if I recall correctly) for the manual tranny drain and fill. The Mazdaspeed lugs are 21mm.
Peace...(hippy)

this is gonna sound dumb... have you tried a 19mm or a 21mm
i'm positive i used one of those... mazda seems to use a lot of uneven numbers in the car

Crazy, my manual tranny is 23mm and the auto is 24mm, although they are a lot older, I would have thought them to be similar. My oil drain plug is 19mm, try that size. Almost all of the sizes are metric except the O2 sensor socket.

seems the mazda engine on my probe is almost entirely put together with 12mm nuts/bolts.
