rattle

Does anyone have a rattle at ~2000rpm? Its consistently there and i think its one of the heatshields.

have you installed a short shifter? mine rattles against it but you can fix that by just bending it a little

Mine is at 2500-3000rpm under light throttle load. comes from the passenger side of the engine bay.

i have it too around 1800 to 2000 rpms i am pretty sure it is the heat shield around the cat directly under the shifter. I thought it was the heatshield around the headers on the engine that says mazdaspeed on it cause i saw a bolt missing found it and tightned it and still get the rattle. I need to get under the car to inspect more closely and possibly bend the heat shield or something.

Ya mines 1800 to 2000 under light load too. I'm going to get it checked out this week as well as get the flash, so i'll let you know what they / I find.

yeah, but mine is the exhaust manifold heat shield... Its lost a bolt. I'm not gonna do anything about it though, gonna wait till its turbo time.

have you been able to check the heat sheild? Mine was loose from the factory when I bought mine; had it tightened up, and its been fine ever since. (Had the same symptoms)
