First of all i would like to say this is a great source for info on this car i have learned alot about it just from reading some of the posts! Well ive had the car for about 10 days now i got an 03 black mica msp finally traded in my honda! So far love the car but i already had to bring it back once for that crazy ass alarm goin off all the time ... but that was a quick fix! I bought a Greddy turbo timer and had it installed two days ago....heres where my question comes in..

First of all any time im driving for more that a few min it gets up into the 3 and 4 min range ... my buddy has an evo and ive seen him whale on the thing and his tt never goes above a min and a half .. so i was just curious what all u out there with tt on ur msp are usually at!

Second the turbo timer functions right BUT once i take the key out the car stays running like it should but it wont let me lock it with the keyless entry and set the alarm i have to lock it manually???? The tuner shop that installed it has never worked on these cars and dont really know ... they kinda rigged it since there is no harness for our rides????

Third and i think last ever since i got the tt put in i notice my headlights flicker ever few min... and every time the fan goes on..Seems weird i dont know i the might have wired it weird or somthing but it doesnt seem right ....

Like i said this is my first post so i hope some of u out there can gimmmie some insight on my first few probs....

Also if anyone wants to throw in some comments on whether or not to get this flash.. and Who knows where i can get a good hid conversion!!!!!

thanx so much

The reason the car wont let you lock your car with the key fob is it still thinks they are in the ingition. Not sure if there is a workaround this. The dimming of the lights, common and normal in these cars.

Welcome to the MSP world!

First off, I don't know if the Greddy TT is auto or if it is set at a specific run time, others will chime in here.

Search for the threads about the TT and the alarm. The alarm/keyless entry cannot work with the TT without significant rewiring of the keyless entry module itself. I have researched this extensively.

The headlights flicker mostly when the fan kicks on or if you leave the heater control switch in the defrost position. It cycles the a/c compressor to dry the air for the winshield. Some people have reported that changing the battery out to a better one will cure this.

If you just bought your car, it's likely that it already has the flash. Mazda dealers were supposed to flash all remaining inventory, that is unless your dealer is one of the retards that still does not know that the flash exists.

Lastly, SpicyMSP was doing a group buy on HIDs I think, search the for sale/group buy section or pm her for info.

With the Greddy TT, press all three buttons at the same time. Then you can use the right button to switch what mode you want. If you use "-L-" or "-H-", the timer will increment as RPM goes. There's also a mode like a preset where you set it to like 1:30 and it stays there. Read the booklet that comes with the timer, it explains everything.

(hi) Welcome to the Forum! Hope you stay for awhile and enjoy your time here.

Yes as the others have mentioned the turbo timer will make it so you can't arm the stock alarm while the turbo timer is counting down. That said, there are a couple of work arounds.

There are a couple of posts, so you'll have to search for them, but basically there are two ways to do this.

1. There is a jumper in the brain unit of the alarm that you can flip to have it auto arm after 30 seconds. If you throw this jumper the car will arm 30 seconds after the turbo timer shuts down. Just lock the doors manually on your way out.

2. You can install a Bosch 5 pole relay to trick the car into thinking that the ignition is off so the car alarm will work. If you take your car into a good alarm shop and tell them you need a relay installed so you can arm the alarm with the turbo timer they should be able to figure it out. There are also directions on the forum for which wires need to be where.

Hope this helps. And welcome again. Lastly, check out the search button at the top of the page, you can find all kinds of useful information using it. :D
