Ive been thinkin about my car.... and what i want to do with it.... heres my options...

1. Put most of my car money into Performance parts like turbo and headers and all that.

Or

2. Put all my money into the looks for the car.... bodykit, rims, decals and whatnot.

Or

3. Do i just leave me 2002 ES as is and buy a Honda CBR 600RR when i turn 18 in March.

tell me what ya'll think i should do.

Buy a 94+ Integra GSR and put a couple grand in bolt ons and you will kick ass. My friend just got a 95 and its depressing how much power he can get for very cheap compared to our cars.

My plans are to work twice my current hours and get my dream car (71 stingray) and spend the money on restoring that while modding my P5 for show, sound, and minor go.

If it's your only means of transportation,I would get a cheaper car
and also get a bike.Cars i would possibly get are 86+Mr2,88+CrxSi/delsolvtec,88'323gt/gtx,
94integraGsr,92'maximaSe,93'preludeSrV,97'240sxLE.
Unless you can afford to fix for cheap-90'300zx,88'944turbo-S,

Go with a bodykit, rims, and a system. It costs way too much to make these cars fast. The performance aftermarket sux for Protege's - few choices, big $$. If you're gonna blow a fat dime on car goodies, stylin' and profilin' is lots cooler than getting smoked by Civics, Integras, and SRT-4s.

That's my $0.02.

you will spend the same in bodykit rims and system that you could spend on a Turbo kit so performance doesnt "sux for Protege's"

hmm...dexter is right, after you have your kik'n setup completely done, it would cost you the same as your performance. i like the system i have in mine, but i got the performance exterior part and the 2003.5 msp wing. it looks really nice! but for some reason it reminds me of the subaru's. i have seen some really nice performance kits on the internet, as well as everyone else, but after rims, exterior, sterio system, and ect it will end up costing the same.

I cant afford to do a whole lot, which is why Im going minor looks mods. But if you got the cash. Go all out performance and keep the body as stock as possible. You want to Own a rice rocket, go sleeper.

hey mp3moose- how much did that piston swap run you- and was it worth it?

Sorry,I read the post incorrectly.I thought you were planning to get rid of the pro for the bike.So now,I'd like to change my suggestion.I would get a good used bike and save a lil' money for mods.Wait till there's a p5 in the junkyard w/a good front end and sides or unless someone is selling the parts off their p5/mp3.(I couldn't wait :) )and just lower it.Exhaust/wheels are optional.
I'll post some picks of my ride when i learn to post

yeah, if it is the p5 then i say leave it alone! but for a protege sedan-get the ground effects ;)

shinzen-

300 for the pistons and wrings and whatnot. 350 for the install. Provided I get cams one of these days and a stand alone, then yes, its worth it.

Moose-
I was curious because I was quoted $1100 for the piston swap, and I really thought that they were out of their minds- for 180 on corksport and 350 for install, that's much more reasonable

Your right, you could buy a turbo for that same amount and it wouldn't "sux for Proteges". But, out choices are very limited for parts. And, the dyno numbers and track times I've seen here aren't very encouraging considering the money spent. Like Elemental said, those "other brand" cars will kick a Mazda's ass when racing with the same money spent. It's all good though, it's not my money, to each his own.

MotegiMazdA just wanted to say that your car looks hot, I havent been in the website in a while. How much did you pay for the kit, and the painting.
