My enine cover seems to be gettin some sort of fluid on the rear of it, and this fluid does not burn off. I can not describe it but the rear of my cover seems black and and shiny because of the stuff on it but the front part is dirty and the greasy stuff seems to be growing. I dunno what it is, anyone else have this problem and know what causes it?

I took pictures but I lost my driver cd for my digital camera and stupid Nikon requires the cd to be bought if you lose it, cant be downloaded off of their website.

so do you think it is leaking oil and I should take it in? Where would it be coming from?

Also would could it be from the injectors cuz they are right there too.

Im sure its probably oil too. I dont know exactly where the PCV valve goes back to the intake, but im sure that is probably the little bit of fluid you are seeing.

Weird, I noticed that on my engine cover when I took it off to paint it.

I also have the green splash marks of the coolant leak.

Strange how several people all have the same quirks with their MSPs.

Alright--definiately looks like that is coming from the PCV line. Disconnect that hose that goes leads to the intake, and look to see how it seals. If the hose is cracked replace it, but I am for sure that it is where it is coming from.

Isn't this close to the PCV Valve?

I dunno since I have never removed this cover to see where it actually is....

please forgive the little guy's lack of knowledge

PCV valve seems to be the common answer. I guess if others that have this take it in and it turns out that the pcv valve is a problem maybe mazdaspeed will realize a new one needs to be designed if there is a flaw. I remember someone, maybe Joe, saying that the stock pcv valve was not that strong and that could be a weak point with turned up boost, but I am at stock levels. I have not really even got on my car yet only 75 miles past break in.

I will wait and see what they say about the hesitation and oil next wednesday, the eigth.
