i traded my ES in with about 20k on it and the tires were still great. i saw minimal wear beginning in the middle of the tires though

Not that many members have that many miles to where the tires ned to be replaced. Most of us are under 30,000 miles. there are afew members, such as GhostP5 who has over 80,000 on his Protege5, but he has aftermarket rims. you might want to find out when he replaced his stock rims for those.

How many times have you rotated your tires in the 22k miles? I only have 10k on mine and I haven't rotated them yet but I did notice the fronts to be worn pretty much. They also spin a lot easier when the road is wet. Might be a good time to get them rotated.

mine were DONE by 24k...of course, that included 4 months' autoXing and a trip to Tail of the Dragon.

but yeah, they were bald like mr. clean.

I rotated them once i think at 8k miles. Maybe I should do them again soon...

Mine were toast around 24-25k after months upon months of hard mountain driving. Keep up with your rotation or you'll end up with slicks in the front and 50% thread in the back ;)

With a mixture of normal and spirited driving, my stock Dunlops on my ES lasted about 30K miles. This was of course with regular rotations.

I first thought about changing my dunlops at 27,000kms when i first noticed a SCREECHING noise during fast cornering. Now i'm at 40,000kms and have noticed a lil' more noise during the hard corners. My friends and a service manager at Mazda all say that the tires are fine and don't need changing. The tread looks alright so i think it's the side walls that are only going.I'm just a lil' worried about the upcoming winter season as i have relied on these tires the past 2 winters. If i get through this winter I'll be happy and change them before next winter-estimated 55-60,000kms.

I got exactly 37,000 miles from mine.

I just read the posts before mine... I think I got the most out of my tires. :D

At that mileage the tread was exactly flush with the little tire-ware indicator marks. So I replaced them.

But I can't remember what model they were. Firestone B381 maybe. I'm not sure if we get the same tire model as in the US.

Don't laugh, but I am just under 10K miles on my 2001 and they will probably dry rot at the rate I am going!:p I have yet to take it on a road trip. I have always gone with some one else and all my friends are loco, I mean local :D Lastly, work is like 5 minutes away!!;) Can't beat that!!!!
